She delivered an insightful presentation on low-carbon value chains and emerging market opportunities. Last year, global upstream natural gas production exceeded 4,000 billion cubic meters, which is expected to increase further. At Rystad Energy, we have thoroughly assessed the emissions associated with coal-to-power and LNG-to-power lifecycles. The event, which focused on transforming global climate commitments into actionable solutions to accelerate the energy transition, brought together industry and governmental thought leaders to discuss practical ways to energize change across the energy sector and beyond. Here are a few highlights from the event: ✔️ As we work towards a net-zero future, we need to do so in unison with creating an equitable energy landscape. We have made progress: according to a recent 2024 Energy Progress Report, today, 91% of people globally have basic access to energy, a significant increase from 78% in 2000. ✔️ Our Chairman & CEO, Lorenzo Simonelli, noted how the energy transition's pace will differ among countries. He emphasized the importance of bridging the Global North and Global South to achieve energy efficiency and emissions abatement, key enablers for meeting net-zero goals. ✔️Alessandro Bresciani, SVP of Climate Technology Solutions, highlighted how achieving net zero requires partnership and collaboration, emphasizing the need for investing in infrastructure and for clear, stable regulations to support multi-year investments in climate technologies. I'm so proud to see our team coming together at important events such as this to help drive the energy transition forward. Thank you to the Global Energy Transition Congress and Exhibition for the incredible opportunity to participate under the theme "Decarbonisation Studies Around the World." I had the privilege of sharing insights about the opportunities available for the water sector to decarbonise by harnessing clean energy. I emphasized that reducing the water sector’s greenhouse gas footprint is essential to delivering the world’s decarbonisation agenda. It was an amazing experience to discuss and explore innovative solutions with industry leaders. It was an honour and privilege sharing the stage with Gonzalo Cabrera, C Energy Consulting and Prof. Giovanni Lozza, Politecnico di Milano. The Global Energy Transition Congress and Exhibition kicked off in Italy Milan with an address from the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Rt Hon. Tony Blair. He emphasized, "The energy transition has begun, but it’s not happening fast enough." Rt Hon. Tony Blair provided key insights relevant to Africa and developing nations, stressing that investment must be directed towards these regions. He highlighted that though Africa needs to ensure sustainable growth, it however needs to grow. The sustainability agenda should not limit the growth of Africa. Balancing Sustainability, Affordability and Security. It was great also hearing insights from Hon. John Kerry, the 68th U.S. Secretary of State. Ministers and government officials from around the world also shared insights on the innovations and progress of their countries. H.E.
