Thank you to the Global Energy Transition Congress and Exhibition for the incredible opportunity to participate under the theme "Decarbonisation Studies Around the World." I had the privilege of sharing insights about the opportunities available for the water sector to decarbonise by harnessing clean energy. I emphasized that reducing the water sector’s greenhouse gas footprint is essential to delivering the world’s decarbonisation agenda. It was an amazing experience to discuss and explore innovative solutions with industry leaders. It was an honour and privilege sharing the stage with Gonzalo Cabrera, C Energy Consulting and Prof. Giovanni Lozza, Politecnico di Milano.
The Global Energy Transition Congress and Exhibition kicked off in Italy Milan with an address from the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Rt Hon. Tony Blair. He emphasized, "The energy transition has begun, but it’s not happening fast enough." Rt Hon. Tony Blair provided key insights relevant to Africa and developing nations, stressing that investment must be directed towards these regions. He highlighted that though Africa needs to ensure sustainable growth, it however needs to grow. The sustainability agenda should not limit the growth of Africa. Balancing Sustainability, Affordability and Security.
It was great also hearing insights from Hon. John Kerry, the 68th U.S. Secretary of State.
Ministers and government officials from around the world also shared insights on the innovations and progress of their countries.
