It’s been a great first half of 2024 for our UK property business, with demand for high quality workspaces and the successful launch of our flexible office portfolio driving office occupancy to a post-pandemic high of 99%. Retail and Leisure leasing has also thrived, with 64 leases signed across all sectors, 60% can be attributed to the sector. Robust performance across all sectors has brought our overall portfolio vacancy to 97%, covering 127,000 sq. ft. We're planning to invest £1.4 billion in London over the next 10 years, including a £90 million commitment to retrofit, ensuring our spaces are both sustainable and cost-effective. This month, Grosvenor starts construction on our latest development - a 68-unit townhome project called Whitford - in collaboration with our long-time partner Citimark. While we typically build townhomes as part of a larger mixed-use development, this site was an exception for us given its unique and special location, across from VanDusen Garden, in a neighbourhood that is already one of the most desirable in Vancouver, and only getting better. Whitford marks our fifth collaboration with Citimark, a partnership that has spanned nearly two decades. It’s also proven to be one of the fastest-selling townhome developments on Vancouver’s west side this year. Our Heritage and Carbon report argues that protecting the unique qualities of historic buildings and improving their energy performance are compatible and achievable. Historic England’s new Advice Note on adapting historic buildings for energy and carbon efficiency sets out clearly that our built heritage can, and should, be adapted to help tackle climate change. It is a welcome and positive update which should encourage all those working to ensure the long-term sustainability of the country’s historic buildings. #PeopleAndPlanetPosititve Tor Burrows Andy Haigh Victoria Herring Ed Green
We have published new advice on adapting historic buildings to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. Our Advice Note makes it clear that it is possible to both conserve heritage and address climate change. It provides guidance on what permissions are needed for decarbonising historic buildings, and includes advice to assist local planning authorities. Read more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e2rffrb5

We’re delighted to be partnering with Tesco to trial an innovative methane reducing feed supplement for cattle that could reduce Grosvenor Farms' greenhouse gas emissions by up to 12%, the equivalent of 1.3 tonnes CO2e per cow each year, supporting our ambition to be a carbon net zero milk producer by 2030. Grosvenor Farms, Cheshire, is one of the UK’s leading dairy and arable farms, working by the principles of regenerative agriculture and circular farming, to produce high-quality foods in a commercially and environmentally sustainable way. We already have one the lowest carbon footprints for milk production in the UK. By working with our partner Tesco, we can build on the significant reductions that we have achieved in our activities and develop a lower carbon milk supply chain. Did you know that dairy cows burp methane as they digest their food? 🐮 That’s why we’re working with our Tesco Sustainable Dairy Group (TSDG) member Grosvenor Farms, to trial Bovaer®, a methane-reducing feed supplement which could lead to a 30% reduction in methane emissions.
