Are you participating in the Wigan 10k? So are we! Staff from across The Heaton Group are running the Wigan 10k to raise money for the fantastic Wigan and Leigh Hospice. They are a registered charity serving people across Wigan borough who have been diagnosed with an illness which is no longer curable. We sadly lost two members of staff to cancer in the last 12 months, so we're really passionate about raising money to support those who are terminally ill and their families. The Heaton Group would like to acknowledge and continually support its local businesses that are currently operating on site. One of our longest serving tenants is Andrew Mitchell & Co Ltd. Established in 1808 JH Peck of Wigan are one of the original UK`s textile manufacturers. Founded in the Wigan borough, they later became part of the Andrew Mitchell & Co Ltd group, with a head office based in Glasgow, Scotland, although keeping the manufacturing site here in Wigan. The ownership is now based on the Eckersley Mill site and has continued to grow and thrive for over 30 years, run by Mark Judson & Marie Taylor. They manufacture various products for the UK haulage industry from tension curtains, tarpaulins & skip nets, to soft play equipment for children & the handicapped, amongst many other products for fire & rescue, utilities industry, & products the general public. Having a long-standing history in Wigan, servicing some household names there is a huge pride within the business as they service many of the UK commercial vehicle bodybuilders & house names.
