    Fun fact of the week💡 Did you know around 50% of applications are rejected by a talent management software before a hiring manager even looks at a CV? With the rise of AI being used in the recruiting world, it's really interesting to see how it can be used in an application process. Things such as key words relevant to the role, and even job titles can be inputted into a system to eliminate applications that wouldn't make it past the first round. While this can save hiring managers valuable time when looking for a team member, it could also be said that this removes the personal aspect of screening candidates- while technical skills are important, the cultural impact a new hire can make is huge.     Today, we have announced the appointment of Joshua Schulman as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director. Joshua replaces Jonathan Akeroyd who is stepping down and leaving the Company with immediate effect by mutual agreement with the Board. Joshua Schulman commented: "I am deeply honoured to join Burberry as Chief Executive Officer. Burberry is an extraordinary luxury brand, quintessentially British, equal parts heritage and innovation. Its original purpose to protect people from the weather is more relevant than ever. I look forward to working alongside Daniel Lee and the talented teams to drive global growth, delight our customers, and write the next chapter of the Burberry story."

    Let's talk all things environment 🌳 As some of you may be aware, the JR team partnered with More Trees by THG Eco in 2023, in an effort to offset our carbon emissions. We are so excited to say we've now captured 238.20 tonnes of future CO2 by planting nearly 150 trees. More Trees are an incredible charity who plant trees all across the world on behalf of companies. They've partnered with countries to help redevelop forests after things such as natural disasters or overexploitation of forests.     Let's talk employee benefits 🤔 According to a recent survey, over 60% of candidates will always consider what benefits a company offers before accepting a job offer. At our 'Hire to Inspire' event last week, this was a really hot topic. We discussed how a company doesn't necessarily need a giant list of benefits, rather companies will stand out more to candidates by having benefits that 'stand out' in the current market. Some of the examples we discussed were: 💻 No meetings on Fridays, unless absolutely necessary 🏖 Free 7 day holiday to any destination ☀ A day off for employees to take in the summer to enjoy the sunshine 🛌 Duvet day- a day off that can be taken for any reason, no questions asked Obviously companies can't all offer free holidays (as lovely as that would be!), but following our discussion last week, it's really clear that if you have a benefits package that 'stands out', you are more likely to attract the best talent for your team.
