A significant step forward for the aviation sector’s #decarbonisation efforts in the UK! ✈️ Great news to see the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom and Louise Haigh MP supporting sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production with their SAF mandate this week. Bringing forward a bill that introduces a revenue certainty mechanism for #SAF producers will help to increase investor confidence and stimulate the UK’s growing SAF industry. We’re proud to endorse the Biodiversity COP16 business statement calling on governments to accelerate implementation of the Biodiversity Plan 🌱 With just under 100 days until UN Biodiversity #COP16 in Colombia, JM has joined alongside 130 other businesses and financial institutions to join the campaign for renewed policy ambition to implement the Biodiversity Plan to halt and reverse #NatureLoss by 2030.
📣🌱 This is our window to secure a #NaturePositive economy for all by 2030. With less than 100 days until the UN Biodiversity #COP16, we’ve published a business statement outlining five high-level policy recommendations for governments to accelerate the implementation of the #BiodiversityPlan to drive corporate #Nature action. The statement, endorsed by 130 businesses and financial institutions with combined revenues of $1.1 trillion, calls on governments to adopt policies to: 🌎 Make sure business and financial actors protect nature and restore degraded ecosystems 🌎 Ensure sustainable resource use and management to reduce negative environmental impacts 🌎 Value and embed nature in decision-making and disclosure 🌎 Align all financial flows to transition to a nature-positive, net zero and equitable economy 🌎 Adopt or strengthen ambitious global agreements to address key nature loss challenges It’s time for governments to create an enabling regulatory framework and put nature at the heart of decision-making. 🔗 Find out more: bit.ly/BizCOP16

Celebrating #InclusionDay at JM 🤝 Colleagues across the world took time out to focus on what #inclusion looks like in the workplace and how each of us can positively make an impact in driving the inclusive culture we strive for at JM. There were some fantastic highlights across world, such as teams in India and Malaysia celebrating by creating pledges on how they can act and keep personal accountability for the role they play in spreading inclusion. 🤝 JM has joined the US Department of Energy's Critical Materials Innovation Hub (CMI) to help shape their five-year programme on platinum group metals (#PGMs). PGMs will play a key role in #catalysingnetzero, from hydrogen fuel cells and electrolysers to sustainable fuels and chemicals. JM will support the CMI Hub in developing technologies and enhancing the innovation pipeline to efficiently use these industrially powerful #criticalmaterials. 🍃♻️ Joining the CMI’s Industry Council builds on JM’s foundation of global advocacy work in critical materials, as members of UK Government advisory councils and other global organisations. This week in Milan, the latest Global Energy Transition Congress and Exhibition has been taking place. The event over three days brings together world-leading voices in energy, policy, technology and finance - like John Kerry, former US Secretary of State and Tony Blair, former UK Prime Minister - to discuss the ground-breaking innovations, projects and commitments needed to accelerate the #energytransition. Our CEO, Catalyst Technologies, Maurits van Tol, joined them for a leadership roundtable on financing the efforts of emerging economies - too many of which are suffering the worst effects of the climate crisis.
