About us
McLaren Racing was founded by racing driver Bruce McLaren in 1963. The team entered its first Formula 1 race in 1966. McLaren has since won 20 Formula 1 world championships, 183 Formula 1 grands prix, the Indianapolis 500 three times, and the Le Mans 24 Hours at its first attempt. McLaren Racing competes across five racing series. In 2024, the team competes in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship with McLaren F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. In 2024, Arrow McLaren will compete in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES with Arrow McLaren drivers Pato O’Ward, Alexander Rossi and David Malukas, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with NEOM McLaren Formula E Team drivers Sam Bird and Jake Hughes, and the Extreme E Championship with NEOM McLaren Extreme E Team drivers Cristina Gutiérrez and Mattias Ekström. The team also competes in the F1 Esports Pro Championship as McLaren Shadow, having won the 2022 Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships. McLaren is a champion for sustainability in the sport and a signatory to the UN Sports for Climate Action Commitment. It is committed to achieving net zero by 2040 and fostering a diverse and inclusive culture in the motorsport industry.

Following the successful completion of the McLaren Group’s capital restructuring, McLaren Group has appointed a number of new directors and non-executive directors to the Group Board, each of whom bring exceptional global business and industry expertise. We are delighted to welcome new board members of such significant calibre and credibility. These individuals take up positions alongside established Board members Shaikh Mohamed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Hisham Al Saie, Dr Samer Aljishi, Omar Syed, Sultan Ojjeh, Will Griffiths and Paul Walsh. Aysha Abdulmalek is currently Senior Director of Mumtalakat’s legal division, leading compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, commercial and corporate legal guidance, and the development of risk mitigation strategies. Dennis Nobelius brings significant automotive industry knowledge from his previous positions as Chief Operating Officer for Polestar, Managing Director for Volvo Cars in Switzerland and CEO of Zenuity, a software company that develops software for self-driving cars. Pierre-Yves Roussel is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Tory Burch and previously held positions as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LVMH’s Fashion Group for 15 years. Torsten Müller-Ötvös held the position of Chief Executive Officer for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars for 14 years before retiring in November 2023. Torsten oversaw the transformation of Rolls-Royce, leading the business to unprecedented success. We look forward to their support as we continue to push the boundaries of performance.
