  • 2023 commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, celebrated on Human Rights Day (10th December). MVA, in partnership with Medway and Swale Health & Care Partnership through the Community Health Catalyst Programme, is running a free workshop to educate stakeholders on the subject of modern slavery. Thursday 14th December 9:30 am -1:30 pm at the University of Kent Campus ME4 4AG This is suitable for any front line workers and will cover: - Organised crime groups. - The picture across Kent and Medway including real case examples. - Typology of modern slavery (17 types- but main ones are labour, criminal sexual and domestic servitude) - The NRM process and how that works. - Do’s and don’ts around working with the clients. - Aspects that make victims vulnerable - which will relate to every service offered in the areas you are looking to help/support. The training will be delivered by Paul Withington from Porchlight. He has long term expertise in this area, including first hand experience of safeguarding victims and developing systemic change including setting up the first Modern Slavery Partnership in Gravesham to bring together different stakeholders to improve support. Paul is a fierce advocate to help those exploited to navigate support and achieve positive outcomes. Please click on the link below to book your free space: https://lnkd.in/eurnKkBW
