Government launches new Pensions Review🏛️ What does the new Pensions Review mean for workplace pensions? 📝 The government launched its much-anticipated review of pensions and retirement savings over the weekend. NOW: Pensions welcomes the announcement, as we recognise the urgent need for a strategic and consensus-driven approach to address issues in the UK pension system. The Pensions Review will initially focus on investment. There’s clearly a shared interest for pension schemes and government regarding investment potential – to simultaneously support economic growth and achieve better pension outcomes. However, it’s key that member interests remain front and centre of initiatives. ⭐ The second part of the review, which is due in coming months, will focus on adequacy. We’re very supportive of this focus and have long been calling for a collaborative development of a roadmap for the future of automatic enrolment to support addressing this challenge.
