Thanks Steven Bartlett for calling us "one of the most disruptive agencies of all time" 🔥 Delivering better, faster and cheaper for our clients for 20 years 😎
🚨ANNOUNCEMENT: Recruitment is clearly broken! So I’m now investing in the recruitment industry to try and fix it! Every single company, regardless of what industry you’re in, is a recruitment company. Because the definition of the word company is “group of people” and nothing will determine a companies outcome more than the quality of the “group of people” that they’re able to attract! So how do we find the best “group of people”? The issue I’ve found is that typical recruitment companies are 👎🏽 Expensive 👎🏽 Have different incentives, and most importantly 👎🏽 They fundamentally don’t understand our company’s culture Then I discovered Chapter 2 - a company designed to fix all of this, led by Leo Harrison MBA who is one of the best entrepreneurs I’ve ever met…a guy who spent 15 years building OLIVER Agency into one of the most disruptive agencies of all time. By bringing the recruitment talent, processes, and data together inside your walls, Chapter 2 creates a recruitment process in-house that truly reflects your culture and your values. Chapter 2 now do all of the recruitment for my entire group. This is why I’m excited to announce I’ve invested in Chapter 2 and Leo and I are going to create a better recruitment solution for every company struggle to find great people that fit their unique culture! What do you struggle with when it comes to hiring? How do we need to change the recruitment industry in your opinion?

Did you manage to catch Alec Barr, FRSA at MAD//FEST LONDON yesterday? 🗣️ If not, it's your lucky day - he's speaking AGAIN at the festival. Come down at 3.15pm to the #AIandEmergingTech stage, where he'll be on a panel discussing how generative AI can unlock untapped efficiency and increase productivity for brands 🔥
Here’s one for you — during a presentation about uncertainty and our struggle with our lack of control, all your slides break and the timer goes off 10 minutes early… Talk about the medium being the message! For all those who attended this version of “Dice, Doubt & Decision Making”, thank you; if you left with a paradoxical sense of unease and confidence, I’ve done my job. Do feel free to reach out or grab me at the festival for a chat tomorrow — I’m always up for a coffee. Or ping me or OLIVER Agency a message and we can arrange something more formal. I’ll be back at MAD//FEST LONDON alongside Seb Bardin, Jamie Irving and Nihir Vedd at 3:15pm on the #AIandEmergingTech stage, to talk about LLMs, automation vs. augmentation, and where the burden of creative responsibility lies between brands and agencies. See you there! #madfest24

If you're at MAD//FEST LONDON today, get yourself to the Brand Innovation stage at 4.50 to see our very own Alec Barr, FRSA discuss how we can leverage game theory to make better decisions 💡
In 2 weeks I'll be speaking at MAD//FEST LONDON - the UK's biggest marketing festival. Inspired by Rory Sutherland and Annie Duke, "Dice, Doubt & Decision Making: Bold Strategies for an Unpredictable World" looks at how we can leverage game theory and AI to make better decisions in everyday life. Oliver Roeder, author of the fantastic "Seven Games: A Human History" talks about board games being almost educational art forms; miniature theatres of life for the intellect, where you can practice decision making and rehearse risk-reward scenarios without fear of (meaningful) consequence. And I couldn't agree more. Everything I learned about risk, about loss, about decision making - I learned from backgammon. And I'm excited to share those lessons with you all. (Don't worry, you don't need to know anything about the game to attend) I'll be discussing how to thinking probabilistically to make better choices, how to convert complex decisions into quantifiable data, and sharing some psychological tricks to insulate yourself from failure. By the end of it, you'll feel better equipped to handle the uncertainty and volatility life throws at you. And hopefully inspired to buy a backgammon board. So you fancy a chat, or a game of backgammon whilst I'm there (yes, I'll have a board on me), please get in touch and we can arrange a meet up. #MadFest2024 Dan Brain Sam Benton
