We are delighted to announce that we have recently received planning permission for a Contemporary Eco Home within the Peak District National Park. The property blends into the steeply sloping woodland landscape using a low profile, sunken design and grass roofing to give a minimalistic yet contemporary style family home, replacing the existing timber chalet that currently resides on the plot of land. From the road, the scheme appears as a series of layered solid drystone wall made from beautiful local Kerridge stone, whilst from the rear the scheme opens up in the form of a lightweight pavilion with access to terraces overlooking and connecting to the wider garden and countryside. The form of this house was to respond to the site topography, the existing trees and associated tree protection zones and create a visual and acoustic screen to the adjacent road. This family home has sustainability at its heart reduce incorporating ‘passiv haus’ design principles incorporating a fabric first approach, renewable energy technologies including a Photo Voltaic solar array and an air source heat pump together with a localised Mechanical Venilation Heat recovery (MVHR) system. If you are in need of an architects with extensive knowledge of sustainable architectural design contact us by email at info@peakarchitects.co.uk or give us a call on 0114 303 4442 and we can arrange a consultation”. #ResidentialArchitects #Sustainability #Passivhaus #SheffieldArchitects #EcoHome #InnovativeArchitecture #SustainableLiving #PeakDistrictNationalpark #CheshireArchitects

Peak Architects have had the privilege of working on design proposals for a 'bridge' house. The design and materiality pickup on references from the surrounding conservation area, whilst the design proposes a 'living bridge' which spans across a brook within the garden and maximises views into and through the adjacent woodland setting. #rebuild #demolishandrebuild #lifeofanarchitect #yorkshirearchitect #housedesign #residentialarchitecture

A big thank you to the Destination Chesterfield Team for organising this mornings 'Chesterfield Champions' Event at the Ringwood Hall Hotel. It was good to catch up with new and existing colleagues and very interesting to hear about the timeline for the introduction of the 'East Midlands Combined County Authority' and the implications for Chesterfield and the region.
