Today we announce $110 million in new funding and introduce ACS Infrastructure as a new investor. At the close of our Series C, we also welcome additional funding from our long-time partner and investor Groupe ADP. This investment follows a strong start to 2024 that has seen us announce a world-first commercial air taxi project in Dubai and a vertiport testbed project in the UK. With this new funding we will deliver on our Dubai vertiport network project, building essential infrastructure for the launch of air taxi services by 2026. The funding will also support the development of critical enabling technologies for our global vertiport operations. Duncan Walker, CEO of Skyports, said: “With ACS backing, we are in the best possible position to advance commercial air taxi and electric drone services around the world. “Investment from a world-class transport infrastructure leader serves as an endorsement of Skyports’ initiatives and underscores the immense potential of the market. Having ACS INFRA as a substantial shareholder in the company, together with their significant cash investment, puts Skyports in a market leading position, which will allow us to continue growing and enabling new aviation services.” Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/ebJNysjf Grupo ACS | Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras, S.A.

Leading the research and technology to deliver a more electric, autonomous and environmentally friendly aviation system
Thanks to James Richmond and our friends at Atkins Realis for hosting an uplifting and high energy morning discussing the progress of the Future Flight Challenge and the opportunities ahead. Jenny Kavanagh talked about the opportunities of hydrogen across aviation for Cranfield Aerospace Solutions and Duncan Walker shared the fabululous growth story of Skyports. Let's get into the commercialisation phase now. #FutureFlight #FIA2024 #ApexofAviation

Buongiorno Italia! We’re bringing regional air mobility to Italy. We’re partnering with SEA Milan Airports and Lilium to launch a passenger eVTOL network in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. This partnership will see us collaborate on the development of a network of vertiports serving key locations across Lombardy, starting with a route between Milan Malpensa Airport and Milan city centre. Duncan Walker, CEO of Skyports, said: “We’re bringing together key partners to introduce regional air mobility services to Italy. With significant support from aviation and infrastructure stakeholders, including our investor 2i Aeroporti, this partnership demonstrates Italy’s readiness to launch the next generation of aviation. We’ve been working with our partners at SEA for some time and we’re excited to prepare to open the doors of our vertiports and see eVTOL aircraft take flight over Lombardy.” Read more about our partnership, here: https://lnkd.in/eEygKNxp

“It’s great to see South East Queensland continue to attract innovative technologies and investment. https://lnkd.in/gbuzeHG7 The Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sector is an exciting new development for SEQ and is expected to contribute over $66 billion to the Australian Economy, or 3.1% of national GDP, by 2040. We’re excited to see this evolving industry bring high-value local jobs to SEQ and support improved services like medical and tourism. To secure our place as a global destination, we must be at the forefront of adopting emerging technologies.” Scott Smith, CEO of Council of Mayors (SEQ) | Skyports Infrastructure | Wisk | #Brisbane2032 🚁 🇦🇺🇬🇧🇺🇸

Today we're celebrating our brilliant colleague Lukas Preis for the publication of his PhD thesis, titled 'Vertiport Design and Operations: Agent-Based Simulation of Urban Air Mobility Infrastructure'. Lukas - or 'Dr Vertiport', as we will be calling him - is now officially one of the leading academics in the field of advanced air mobility, with a specialisation in ground infrastructure. His thesis presents key research into vertiport design and operations, using Agent-Based Modelling and Simulation to identify and quantify design drivers for optimal vertiport airfield operations. These findings present essential learnings and insight for the optimisation of vertiport operations, which directly benefit the AAM industry. We're proud to share Lukas' thesis and to celebrate the hugely talented, passionate, intelligent people at Skyports. 📖 Read Lukas' PhD thesis here: https://lnkd.in/eA98g_fg Technical University of Munich | TUM School of Engineering and Design (ED) | #AAM #vertiports #aviation

Close partnership with government is crucial for unlocking the potential of emerging aviation solutions, maintaining high safety standards, and fostering confidence from the public and industry. With the UK poised to vote for its next government tomorrow, we're hopeful that the development of AAM and new electric aviation solutions will remain a priority. Here are our 5 top priorities for the next government, which we believe are key to enabling growth for the next generation of aviation in the UK. What do you think? What would you like to see prioritised by the UK government? Let us know. #generalelection #AAM #aviation
