📍Rydal Walk, Stalybridge This project includes the development of 16 homes and the refurbishment of existing shops and maisonettes. The site had many issues to overcome, including navigating coal mining areas and addressing significant level differences from the existing adopted road. Sutcliffe provided additional site investigations to determine grouting requirements for the coal seams and our civil and structural designs also incorporated retaining walls to manage major level changes on site. This week during Net Zero Week we want to celebrate the contributions our expert team has made towards a greener, more sustainable future, keeping sustainability at the heart of numerous current projects. 🏗️ Longshaw Drive, Salford, a ground breaking council led housing scheme, building new homes to Passivhaus standard to minimise energy consumption for the home occupier 🏗️ Kingsway School in Rochdale, which is net zero in operation. Made possible by purpose built canopy over a large communal outdoor area which houses multiple PV panels in conjunction with the new building having a highly insulated external envelope. 🏗️ CCC Waste in Kirkby, a new aggregate washing facility which is the largest in the UK, enabling 1 million tonnes of demolition waste to be recycled and reused as construction aggregates. These projects show Sutcliffe's dedication to reducing waste and advancing renewable energy. They demonstrate our commitment to fulfilling our responsibilities by delivering lasting social and environmental benefits to the UK, while paving the way toward achieving Net Zero targets. #NetZeroWeek #NetZeroWeek2024 #Sustainability

A fantastic achievement for team Sutcliffe! The team rowed, cycled and hiked their way to completing the Coniston Challange this weekend, raising money for the amazing Alder Hey Children's Charity. Simon Hodge, Simon Boekweit-Hughes, Cian Byrne and Josh Geoghegan completed the course in 5 hours 45 mins and 10 seconds, finishing 11th out of 38 teams overall. We are incredibly proud of our team's achievements and are delighted to fundraise for such a crucial charity providing vital facilities and care for thousands of children in treatment and recovery.
