There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes from when a book is first conceptualised to when it finally hits the bookshelves! One of the most important part is the campaigning or marketing journey of the book 🔈 This week, let's revisit the marketing campaign of 'Blue Sisters' by Coco Mellors 🙌🏻 'Blue Sisters' has dominated bookshops even before coming out. Mellors created a storm on social media by talking about her passionate journey with the book and went on tours as well, the first stop being Waterstones’ flagship store in Piccadilly. One of her most exciting appearances was her event at the Hay Festival in May, where she spoke to TikTok and YouTube sensation Jack Edwards. As they say 'it takes a village' to market books but the results are completely worth it! 🕺🏻✨ Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eg_AwWDa 💙

Literature has never just been about stories that make us feel good, and were the heroes always win - It's also always been about protest, expressing dissent, and speaking out. 📣 ✊ Now, more than ever, it is vital for us to read diversely, talk openly about world issues and turn our ears to the voices of the oppressed and marginalised. It is critical for us grow understanding and show empathy and compassion for all those who needlessly struggle. In this issue, we share the experiences of the Palestinian people through their stories. 💚 ❤️ 🖤 Follow the link below to check out our recommendations for Palestinian writers and stories. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gdFEXeG3
