This prestigious award recognises bus companies operating service networks wholly or mainly outside the major conurbations. Winning this category could lead you to the ultimate accolade: UK Bus Operator of the Year! 🌟 Our judges are looking for bus operators that: 🚌 Make services accessible to a diverse cross-section of the community 🚌 Identify with and respond to the needs of the communities they serve 🚌 Strive to sustain and grow the bus market 🚌 Invest in fleet and staff development 🚌 Are financially sound and stable 🚌 Form effective partnerships, especially with local authorities 🚌 Maintain high operational and engineering standards 🚌 Innovate and adapt in a changing environment 🚌 Prioritise the health and safety of staff and passengers through comprehensive risk management This year, special attention will be given to operators who have successfully encouraged customers back onto the bus since the pandemic. Mystery traveller assessments will be conducted on shortlisted services to ensure we recognise the best. This award is open to bus companies operating service networks wholly or mainly outside the major conurbations. Operators not subsidiaries of a group or holding company owning three or more subsidiaries and holding O’ licences for fewer than 100 vehicles are encouraged to enter the Top Independent Operator category.
