📨 We know many of you have been frantically refreshing your inboxes this week, waiting for our LYft newsletter to land. It's taking a bit of a break for the summer, but we still want to share what we’re loving, though, as it’s one of the most popular parts of our newsletter. With the Latitude festival kicking off this weekend, we thought we’d give it a music focus to showcase the Welly* team’s varied tastes. #SummerBreak #MusicFestival #Latitude #Newsletter #ContentMarketingAgency

This time last week was World Youth Skills Day 2024. Did you know young people are nearly three times more likely to be unemployed than adults? (Source: TUC) It's a stark reminder of the challenges they face in finding quality jobs. At Welly*, we're all about championing bridging that gap and have successfully employed young talent through GOV schemes like Kickstart, as we believe the continuous improvement of skills and knowledge is crucial for career progression and self-development. 🪜If you're looking for your first step on the ladder or know a young person who you think would benefit from work experience with us, get in touch with us today at hello@welly.agency #WorldYouthSkillsDay2024 #Apprenticeships #Kickstart #WorkExperience #ContentMarketingAgency

They think it’s all over…it is now. The final whistle has been blown, and the cheers of the crowds are nothing more than echoes. Well done to Spain, champions of Europe. The Euros may be done and dusted for another four years, but we hope the impact of the more meaningful marketing campaigns lasts long after the players have hung up their boots. We discussed the purpose-driven marketing wins of the Euros in our recent blog (linked below 👇 in case you missed it.) Our wins were the 'England ‘til I Died' campaign for the British Heart Foundation and the 'No More Injury Time' campaign against domestic violence. Of course, some brands scored own goals with their marketing efforts: think Hellmans dropping big bucks on Jack Grealish, only for him not to make the team! #ThrowbackThursday #MarketingCampaigns #MarketingWins #PurposeDrivenMarketing

It’s World Emoji Day, and we love these little icons that help catch the eye and convey emotion. And we're not alone... 📊 According to recent statistics, 92% of the online population uses emojis! (Source: Marketing Scoop). Emojis aren't just fun and expressive; they play a crucial role in how we communicate online and can even influence SEO! Wondering how? While emojis might not directly impact your search rankings, they do influence SEO in several powerful ways (source: AIOSEO): 🔍 Many people use emojis in online searches, with search engines pulling up relevant results for emoji-based queries. Make the most of emojis in your SEO titles and meta descriptions. 💡Emojis add to the relevance factor of your content by showing it is fresh and creating an emotional connection with readers 👁️ Search snippets that feature emojis stand out, increasing your visibility. 📈 Emojis can boost your organic clickthrough rates, making your snippets pop and look fun, enticing users to click. #WorldEmojiDay #Emojis #SEO #DigitalMarketing #ContentMarketingAgency

🌟 Did you know today is Social Media Giving Day? This is a day dedicated to using online platforms to make a positive impact in the world by promoting charitable giving. Lauren made her podcasting debut recently on Chris Reeve's podcast, Coffee with Chris. If you didn’t know, Chris is a bit of a celeb on the local footballing scene thanks to his Talk Norwich City podcast but, luckily, he didn’t ask her to explain the offside rule or weigh in on Southgate’s team selection. Instead, they talked all things copywriting, from the TikTok-ification of the digital landscape to the unfiltered use of AI and ChatGPT’s obsession with the rocket emoji. Links to the podcast will be in the comments below 👇 #Podcast #CopyWriting #ContentMarketing #LocalLegends #ThrowbackThursday

⚽ Football seems to be all everyone’s talking about at the moment, even us! The Euros made it into last month’s newsletter, Lauren was a guest on Chris Reeve’s podcast (luckily he was wearing his marketing hat rather than his Norwich City football one) and now we’ve written a football-themed blog. Most unlike us, we know, BUT… This year football is tackling some real-world issues, both on and off the pitch, which is something we can all get behind. Before things get too tense later this evening, why not check out our blog “Purpose Driven Marketing Moments from the Euros 2024”, linked in the comments below. 👇 We highlight marketing campaigns that show racism and domestic abuse the red card and others that are scoring big by promoting heart and skin health. So let’s celebrate these brands making a difference. Because when marketing meets meaning, everyone wins - hopefully like England tonight 🤞 #NewBlog #PurposeDrivenMarketing #MeaningfulMarketing #Euros24 #ContentMarketingAgency

Are marketers missing the mark? No matter the industry, relationships between brands and consumers are created and scaled on social media. But, they’re on thin ice. 🧊 📊 Hootsuite's latest social media consumer report reveals that, of the people who follow brands on social media, 52% are exhausted by self-promotional brand content and 1 in 3 would prefer no brand content at all. So, where are marketers going wrong? Here's how: - Making assumptions about your audience on social media - who they are, how they behave, and what they want. - Treating social media like a giant marketing megaphone instead of adding value to people’s experiences. - Focusing too much on the point of purchase and not on what happens afterwards. 🔄 We believe all good relationships follow the same trajectory: Awareness → Relevance → Significance. However, it’s easy to fall into bad habits that weaken (or even damage) the relationships your brand has with consumers at each stage along the way. If you need support with your marketing strategy and creating content that really engages and connects with your audience, get in touch, we’d love to help! #ContentMarketing #SocialMedia #BrandAwareness #CustomerEngagement

Did you know that consumers have clear preferences about what topics they like to see from brands on social media? In Hootsuite's recent ‘Social Media Consumer Report’, 'active shoppers’ are defined as ‘consumers who frequently buy because of social media’, with a brand’s social presence largely influencing their decision-making. The report reveals that when it comes to active shoppers: 🏆 75% love when brands talk about major sporting events, compared to 41% of Casual Followers. 🎬 72% enjoy brand participation in pop culture moments, with 31% of Casual Followers feeling the same. 📰 66% are in favour of brands talking about news and events, with 31% of Casual Followers also appreciating these conversations. ✊ 67% want brands involved in social justice moments, in contrast to 31% of Casual Followers. 🏛️ 55% appreciate brand engagement in political events, compared to only 18% of Casual Followers. So, whether it’s a big sports event, a breaking news story, or a significant social issue, brands joining the conversation can have a big impact on those who are actively shopping. 🛍️ 💬 Which topics do you love seeing brands talking about on social media?
