While Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) and Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries have traditionally been the norm for powering our emergency lighting systems, at Whitecroft we've made a conscious decision to transition to Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. The reasons go beyond efficiency; it is about making a positive impact on both the environment and our customers' experience. Join Michael Govier, Head of Product and Market Innovation at Whitecroft Lighting, where he discusses the reasons why Lithium Iron batteries are the safe and sustainable choice: https://lnkd.in/eJAtZKm6 #LiFePO4 #NetZero #SBTi #Sustainablelighting

Here at Evans sustainability is and always will be one of our top priorities and one issue that we feel we must all do better with is how we have our products delivered to site. Our industry is no different when it comes to packaging and the overuse of it!   So, when our partners at Whitecroft Lighting approached us with an innovative and possible solution to this environmental issue, we jumped at the chance to be involved! 💡   Geopak is a reusable, trackable, sustainable delivery method that not only can be used time and time again (meaning no cardboard and plastic waste filling up skip after skip), but it also delivers the products we need in the correct order we need them. They are packaged at source according to our project schedule so that our electricians can use their time efficiently to get on with the job in hand, rather than taking single use packaging to the skip, repeatedly disrupting their day.    We have been working closely with Whitecroft Lighting, offering feedback on each prototype to ensure that this innovative new design is beneficial for both supplier and end user. We are proud to be the first electrical company in South Wales to implement the delivery of our products using this method and look forward to demonstrating how we will be using this at our Carbon Net Zero project site Fairwater Campus.    No more endless cardboard waste, no more needless plastic ending up in landfill, simply a more sustainable and efficient way of working. 💪   Better for us, better for our clients and most importantly, better for our planet! 🌍   Let’s all keep doing better! ⭐ ISG Whitecroft Lighting Cardiff Council #sustainability #renewable #electrical #ecofriendly

Last week, we invited the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to film our school safari with Mossley Hollins High School. The event aimed to highlight local opportunities for young people, raise awareness of apprenticeships and their benefits, and encourage them to get started with their professional journeys. Thank you to Sarah Power, who previously hosted GMCA’s ‘Demystifying Lighting Manufacturing and Apprenticeship Pathways’ webinar at the beginning of 2024 and presented this opportunity to us, helping us clear up misconceptions about manufacturing and allowing us to share our enthusiasm for inspiring young people. One of the students commented, "It was a fantastic facility. I expected to see more manual jobs, but it was great to see a mix of modern technology and investment in machinery and people operating them. Seeing the people who make it all possible highlights the variety of career paths available. This experience has already got me thinking about my career. After what I have learned today, I would consider an apprenticeship." We're proud to support the next generation of professionals by providing hands-on experience and fostering a positive learning environment. Meet Adam Burchett, who is currently studying Business Management at Liverpool John Moores University. Adam decided to apply for work experience over his summer break to gain a broader understanding of the working environment. During his time with us, Adam shadowed the marketing department in our day-to-day operations and developed valuable skills in presenting, data analysis, and strategy planning. He also assisted with our product launch and the filming of upcoming marketing projects! Adam shared, “The welcoming and supportive environment in the marketing team has been crucial in easing my transition into the company and making me feel like a valued member of the team in a very short amount of time.” Read more about Adam’s experience in his blog post: https://lnkd.in/eyhinyGs #WorkExperience #ProfessionalDevelopment #WhitecroftLighting

Zero-fuss install with easy, on-the-spot maintenance. Not only have the benefits of Foil been maximised for the end user, but we redesigned with installers and contractors in mind. That’s why Foil now offers a staged installation, reducing the risk of damage to the product, saving onsite storage, labour-intensive movement, and making transportation easier. We’re thinking beyond installation too. A modular build approach is used throughout. For example, a removable cartridge gives quick access to emergency lighting batteries and all components allowing easy maintenance and upgrades on the spot and at floor level. Last Friday we paused business for our annual summer party, this year, coined Ashtonbury '24. The festival theme brought live music, stand up comedy, inflatable games, food vendors, and lots of laughs and dancing. We hold these events every year as recognition and thanks toward team efforts contributed over the last 12 months, for Aiming Higher, being Curious Creators, and Committed Together. Thanks again to the people of Whitecroft Lighting... we can't wait for next year's! Read more about the event, here: https://lnkd.in/dW5cmz5s #CommittedTogether #Collaboration

Designed with strong environmental and sustainability principles at its core, 80 New Bond Street is a prestigious £36.6m development in the heart of London’s West End. Project mechanical and electrical installer, ONE MEP, wanted a partner that could meet the high performance and quality specifications alongside the environmental and sustainability criteria. Our Avenue Metro Vitality luminaires were the perfect solution for this project. Embracing the principles of circularity, its modular design incorporates replaceable components to allow for future upgrades with minimal waste and efficient installation times. Nick Power, Pre-Construction Director at ONE MEP comments: “More and more now, construction and refurbishment projects are demanding these types of fittings, aiming to achieve positive environmental accreditation. Whitecroft is ahead of the game in this respect.” Read more from our case study: https://lnkd.in/ef_DEx2S #Workplace #C2C #Sustainability #LightingDesign
