If the future of UK nature is in the hands of people like Prerana Balu we're safe! Massive thank you to everyone that came to Hepple for our first Wild Weekend. It was very special to spend a longer period of time together in nature - and everyone was so keen to learn. We have two more nature skills weekends coming up at Maple Farm in Surrey this summer - check out our eventbrite for more info!

Remembering the most incredible opportunity with Youngwilders at Hepple! Nature restoration and rewilding, conservation and legal talks from The Missing Lynx Project and Erica McAlister and removing invasive species all while learning a *lot* from my peers.

Exciting to see the Rewilding Britain Network visit the Hepple Estate as part of their #Rewilding gathering. It's not long to go before we bring 30 young people to the same place for a weekend of camping, walking, ecology skills and nature restoration activities!

Thank you to the Hepple Estate in Northumberland for kicking off our #Rewilding Network gathering with a fascinating and informative site visit. The site supports a mosaic of habitats, with herbivores kick starting natural processes. Excellent to see the naturally regenerating birch! #RewildingNetwork Rewilding Britain

Last Thursday, we held our first corporate partnership day with Foodsteps! Their brilliant team braved gale-force winds to mulch trees planted by young volunteers at our site in Essex. Foodsteps' CEO and Founder - the unstoppable Anya Doherty - is a co-founder of Youngwilders, and some of the team are regular volunteers (shout out to Joe Duncan-Duggal and Joe T.) so it was special to have them choose us for their team day.
As a company, it's more than just our professional responsibility to aid the planet; it's also our personal passion. For our latest team day, we embarked on a volunteering and rewilding excursion with Youngwilders, a non-profit committed to accelerating nature recovery in the UK and engaging young people in the process. Located just outside of Cambridge in the countryside, our team embraced the opportunity, donning our wellies and raincoats for a meaningful escape into nature. Together, we planted saplings and learned how to make mulch to help replenish the land. Our founder, Anya Doherty, Operations Manager Joe T., and Chief Scientific Officer Joe Duncan-Duggal have long been supporters and active participants in the Youngwilders initiative so we were truly excited to bring this to the rest of the team.

As we near the end of the working day, here’s a sunny memory from one of our ‘Hedgeruary’ planting days - our yearly cycle of February volunteering days planting up scrub and hedgerow across a variety of sites, led by young people for young people, in collaboration with farmers, landowners, local councils and other charities and organisations. In this photo, we helped a farmer plant over 200m of FiPL (Farming in Protected Landscapes) funded native hedgerow. This #WorldRewildingDay, we’re giving a huge shout out and thank you to all our amazing volunteers, landowner collaborators, funders and, most importantly, THREE new team members (!!!), plus all the amazing and tireless people working on nature recovery across the sector and beyond. We’re extremely excited and hopeful for the year to come ⚡️

An extremely exciting day for Youngwilders! We're so thrilled to have Meg join the team to accelerate our ecological surveying and habitat management work, alongside a programme of field skills education. What did we do to deserve this!? 😱 💥 🌳
🌱 Thrilled to be joining Youngwilders, an organisation committed to delivering ecological restoration alongside involving young people in the movement. I'll be leading the development and implementation of ecological surveying programs across Youngwilders' active projects whilst providing hands-on experience in fieldwork and habitat management. Keep your eyes peeled for opportunities! 🌿 #ecologicalrestoration #rewilding
