- Monitor project progress and key performance indicators (KPIs) by coordinating with all stakeholders. Present reports on KPIs, project highlights, risks, and issues, as well as any project changes, to the site/Divisional Management Committee during formal monthly meetings. Ensure that risks are appropriately managed by implementing time-bound mitigation plans and provide evidence of calculated risks being taken.
- Collaborate with divisional stakeholders and the NPI manager to develop business cases during the feasibility stage of projects. Agree to initial specifications with marketing and technical stakeholders and work with the NPI Manager to create a preliminary project, resource, and cost plan for presenting proposals to the site/Division PCM Committee for approval.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between the local Engineering team and Operations at Eastbourne PC, as well as between teams at remote PC sites and other divisional departments. Establish project steering boards if necessary. Anticipate any challenges when the product reaches volume production to ensure smooth project handovers to production.
- Take the lead in identifying gaps in expectations between the project team and stakeholders and manage these expectations accordingly. Clearly document any changes in the project and facilitate the process for later auditing of these changes and their impact. Adopt a mindset of continuous reflection when projects do not go as planned, and implement strategies to prevent similar negative consequences in the future. Seek opportunities to enhance professional accreditation when appropriate.
- Ensure that relevant quality and reliability analyses such as DFMEA and PFMEA have been conducted as needed. Work with stakeholders with a vested interest in Quality and Reliability to ensure that projects from PC Eastbourne follow the expected processes and align with the long-term quality and reliability targets outlined in the annual OGSM.
- Ensure a clear understanding of the project test strategy early in the project lifecycle, both within the NPI team and at the Operations level. Clearly communicate to the project team the level of testing required before PCP gate milestones can be crossed.
