    Why I bought this?
I just wanted to build a new habit of reading, and I just made a target of reading atleast 1 book a week. I didn't want to use it to for my textbooks but wanted to see if it can handle it of not.

Lets go on a detailed review.

    LOOK AND FEEL-
The body is of plastic and has a kind of matt finish but it definitely not feel a premium gadget. It is easy to hold but some scratches at the back are visible. But thats not a problem as it still looks good. There are no scratches on the screen and I don't think there would be ever either.

    USER INTERFACE AND TOUCH-
The overall interface is actually very bad if compared to a phone or tablet. But since it is not a replacement for tablet, but for books it does the work. It is a complete distraction free environment. The touch is actually bad but it pretty much does the job since you only have to turn pages and as compared to a book, I haven't seen any book with touch screen yet so its just an additional feature☺️

    READING TIME-
It just feels like it has a paper embedded in it, I remember one of my relatives calling it a photoframe. There is no eye strain and it also helps you read in pitch dark which is not possible with real paper. I had a hard copy of a book but still chose to read it on it because I dont have to struggle turning pages and i am very bad with it. Nor I like the so called smell of the paper so it is the obvious choice for me and I would pick it up any day over a book. The only thinkn I like about book over this is that they look very good filling a shelf with there beautiful covers

    TEXTBOOKS-
Essentially mobi format can support any book which has 95% text and minimum photos but also if a book has multiple columns then it kind of fails there so you would have to use it as a pdf. It can display any pdf. I have tried hand written digital notes, scanned pdf of hand written notes, Books with lots of diagrams, books with multiple columns.
The only time it refused to display something was a page from my bio book which had a lot of diagrams. While it displayed other pages which had diagrams only one page was left blank.
It can though display all these i wouldn't use it to replace my all books since a textbook has a lot of coulurs and it looks a bit of visually appealing but on it it doesn't look that appealing. I use it to display some maths books since the dont have diagrams and when i have to just refer to a book which I dont have and that can be very well done on a tablet.

    COMICS?-
While it can display them they don't look that good and I wint recommend it for that.

    CONCLUSION-
It is very good choice to read fiction or non fiction. For fiction readers it has a dictionary feature which gives you the meaning of any word and it is saved so you can see how many words you still remember thus enhancing your vocabulary. For non fiction it gives you making notes whichbis very good as you dont have to take paper and pen for marking your key learnings. It cant replace textbooks but I am sure in future it may be able to do that also. The only feature I would want is a physical page turn button.

SO I WAS ABLE TO READ 8.5 BOOKS IN 4 WEEKS WHICH IS 4.5 BOOKS EXTRA AND CONSIDERING THAT I HAD MY EXAMS DURING THIS PERIOD SO IT DOES HELP YOU READ. I WAS JUST READING NONFICTION FOR FIRST BUT I ALSO READ A FEW FICTION. IT REALLY HELPS TO EXPERIMENT SINCE YOU DONT FEEL PHISICALLY ATTACHED TO THE BOOK.

Best Kindle for those on a budget

I've gone through several kindles in the last few years (I have somewhat of a Kindle buying problem and I read about four books a month) and I've used everything from the Paperwhite 10th Gen, to the Paperwhite 11th Gen to the Kindle Oasis to even the new basic Kindle.

I wanted an inexpensive, compact basic model that I could throw in my bag and not have to worry about, but wasn't willing to spend 10k on the new basic Kindle. It didn't seem worth it to pay 4k more just for a 300ppi resolution screen and no noticeable upgrades otherwise. It doesn't make a difference to me if my page takes an extra millisecond to load. I probably take longer to turn the page of a physical book anyway.

So this one does the job for me despite having a lower resolution screen (you can barely notice it, actually) and no dark mode (which I don't use anyway). Build quality seems better than the new basic model. Even with heavy duty reading and the frontlight brightness set at level 6 at all times, the battery hits 50% at the end of four weeks - so I'm quite happy with the battery life too. I bought this on sale for around 6k and I think at this price it makes for a great no-nonsense e-reader option.

And after reading several books on this, I feel like I don't need the bells and whistles of the more expensive kindles at all. The newer features (except maybe waterproofing) just seem like a way to get us to keep upgrading.

I'm sharing my thoughts after using this Kindle for a week. Although I wasn't a consistent reader before, this purchase has changed that. The Kindle has truly enhanced my reading experience, offering a level of enjoyment that traditional books can't match. The convenience it brings to reading is remarkable. Features like Word Wise and the built-in dictionary have proven invaluable. However, I do find the price point a tad high, especially given the absence of USB C charging, warm light, and audiobook support. I got it for 6700 INR. One feature I believe would be extremely beneficial is Audio Pronunciation for the dictionary and vocabulary builder. Since the device already boasts a text-to-speech engine, I believe integrating this function in upcoming software updates would be a seamless addition that many users, including myself, would greatly appreciate.
