iQOO is well-known for offering performance and gaming focused smartphones, especially in the affordable flagship segment, targeting the younger generation. With the company’s upcoming iQOO 12 smartphone, the company is doing things slightly differently by focusing on its camera department.
The iQOO 12 smartphone is scheduled to launch in India on December 12, making it the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphone to arrive in India.

Ahead of the launch, I got my hands on the iQOO 12 and captured a few images. Here are some of the images captured with the device.
The smartphone also comes with an astrophotography mode, allowing you to capture Astro shots without the need of a tripod.
The iQOO 12 performs really well when it comes to clicking images in daylight conditions. The device is able to capture images with good details and colour reproduction. The device was able to capture images with good highlight retention, and was able to focus on the subject very quickly.
I often find myself shifting to the portrait mode while capturing images and my experience with iQOO 12 was no different. The portrait images captured with the smartphone turned out well, with good edge detection and background blur effect. You can adjust the blur effect on the device, which is good, offering you more control over your images.
The smartphone comes with a 64MP periscope telephoto camera, which is able to capture decent telephoto images. As the device supports 3x optical zoom, you will have no issues at all with capturing images in 3x. Even images captured in 10x offered decent details, with minimal noise.
When you go to 30x, the images start losing detail and are grainy. The 100x mode is good for identifying objects but loses out on detail.
The iQOO 12 continues to perform well when it comes to low light photography. The device is able to capture good images even in low light conditions, offering good details with minimal noise.
