  • Google Lens claims it can help you identify skin conditions.
  • Upload a photo of your skin condition to Lens and get visual matches.
  • Lens doesn’t claim it can replace a doctor, but it can help you get started.
Have you noticed the mole on your arm? Is the sudden rash a cause for concern? Skin conditions can be worrisome, and not everyone is an expert in dermatology. However, there's a new development mentioned in a recent blog post on Google's Keyword blog. It states that you now have the option to upload photos of troubling skin problems, and Google Lens image-recognition technology can assist you in finding visually similar matches.

It's important to note that this feature is not a substitute for a medical diagnosis. Nonetheless, it can provide you with additional information about an unfamiliar condition or help you articulate it more effectively.

Lens and your skin condition
  • Locate the search bar and find the Lens button situated on the right side. It is identifiable by its multi-coloured camera icon.
  • Capture a photo of your skin condition using Google Lens, or choose an existing image from your camera roll.
  • Initiate the search process by tapping the shutter button.
  • As a result, visual matches related to your search will be displayed.
  • Beneath your photo, you will find multiple suggested diagnoses. By clicking on each one, you can navigate through similar photos.
Other uses of Google Lens
Google Lens was introduced in 2017 and is accessible through the Google app on both Android and iOS platforms. It empowers users to search by visually capturing images through their device's camera, taking photos or screenshots, or even long-pressing images encountered while browsing. It offers a diverse array of visual results for exploration.

Google Lens can be beneficial in several ways, such as aiding with homework, translating menus and signs, and facilitating online shopping by identifying items seen on the internet.

Additionally, Google unveiled a novel shopping feature that utilizes generative AI technology to demonstrate how clothing from online retailers will fit various body types.
