World Cup Squad To Be Announced Today; Yuvraj Singh’s Selection Keenly Watched

With just a few hours left in the final selection of the squad for the World Cup, cricket fans across the country are waiting anxiously to know which 15 players will be given the responsibility to represent India in the World Cup 2015. The biggest question in the minds of cricket lovers is: Will Yuvraj Singh make it to the final 15?

As the World Cup will be played in Australia and New Zealand, the selectors need to choose players who can adjust well to the drastically different playing conditions. Experience will count a lot as players will have to handle totally different situations.

This might be a blessing in disguise for Yuvraj Singh, who was a star performer in the last World Cup, wherein he also won the man of the series. He had scored 362 runs and taken 15 wickets. However, what could against him is the fact that he did not play even single ODI in 2014. He had last played an ODI in December 2013.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who recently retired from Test cricket, is likely to be retained as the captain. The top order is likely to be chosen among Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina.

In the bowling department, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are likely to get a call, while there would be a tough fight among the pacers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron.
