It is an honor to lead the amazing team at the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and to partner with a wide array of EERE’s stakeholders across the country and the world. I reflect with immense pride on all that we accomplished together in 2023 to advance our nation’s clean energy transformation and am enthusiastic about the opportunity to further our collaboration in 2024.

While we continued to recruit new minds and nurture existing relationships, the staff in each of EERE’s three technical pillars—renewable energy, sustainable transportation, and buildings and industry—worked hard to invest in American innovation. Since January 2023, EERE has awarded over $1 billion in funding opportunities dedicated to the clean energy transformation. From research and development to the deployment stage, the emerging programs and technologies that EERE supports will help provide clean, affordable, reliable energy for all Americans.
