Biography
Michael is the Deputy Chief Regulator having initially joined Ofqual in 2013.
His previous roles include:
- Executive Director, Strategy
- Director, Strategy & Markets, Ofqual
- Associate Director, Strategic Policy & Risk, Ofqual
Prior to joining Ofqual, Michael worked in local government, for Coventry City Council. He is a Director at the Institute of Regulation.
Deputy Chief Regulator, Ofqual
The deputy chief regulator is accountable for:
- leadership of Ofqual’s regulation across general, vocational and technical qualifications, to ensure that Ofqual is effective in regulating on behalf of students and apprentices
- effective use of Ofqual’s rule-making powers, regulatory tools and enforcement powers
