    Plan Zero

JAGGAER is proud to be taking climate action and understands the importance of taking rapid and deep emissions cuts. That’s why in 2023 we set an ambition to be a net zero business by 2040. In more specific terms this means that we expect to reduce absolute scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2021 base year, and by 90% by 2040. Our near-term (2030) and net-zero targets have been validated by the SBTi. Our plan includes procuring renewable electricity where possible, transitioning to lower emissions company leased vehicles, engaging our supply chain and being mindful when travelling for business.*
    * – JAGGAER’s Plan Zero ambition is set in good faith and non-binding.

    Progress to Date

We have already made great progress since first assessing our emissions in 2021. In 2022 our absolute emissions reduced overall by ~10%, mainly in our scope 3 purchased goods and services category through transitioning from traditional server technology to cloud infrastructure. In 2022, our scope 1 and 2 emissions increased slightly compared to the previous year and we associate this with offices being reopened post-COVID 19 and our customer facing teams travelling more. For further information about our 2022 progress, see our ESG Impact Report.

    Supply Chain Emissions

JAGGAER’s supply chain consists predominantly of hosting and infrastructure providers. In 2022, the vendors within our supply chain accounted for over 75% of our total greenhouse gas emissions which is why we are prioritizing the reduction of Scope 3 emissions.

JAGGAER’s ‘Cloud First’ initiative for enterprise systems consolidates the use of many cloud platforms dispersed over many locations into common cloud SaaS offerings, allowing JAGGAER to reduce dependency on less scalable data centers and on-premises hardware systems.

Migrating to third-party cloud-based hosting infrastructure service provider, AWS, is supporting our mission to minimize our greenhouse gas emissions. By 2025, AWS is expected to power its operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025. This has saved JAGGAER over 220 MTCO2e so far, with a further 37 MTCO2e saved as compared with on-premises computing equivalents.
