About us
Food isn’t what it used to be. We made it better, and we did it by building a different kind of farm. A farm that doesn’t need sun, soil or favorable weather to do its thing. A farm where pesticides have no place—because everything’s indoors, monitored and controlled, 24/7. We built a farm where robots do the heavy lifting, so the humans can focus on growing the freshest, most nutritious food possible. A farm that can produce over 300 times more food than an ordinary farm. With 100% renewable energy. And 97% less water. Pretty unbelievable, right? Well, believe it. This farm is real. We call it 80 Acres Farms. Fresher food awaits you.

We always have fun with our friends at The Stream! Watch and listen here: https://bit.ly/4cUnaRm.
What do dogs and plants have in common? 🐕🌱 Noah Zelkind, VP of Business Intelligence at 80 Acres Farms joins Will Sarni and Tom Freyberg for another episode of The Stream. The organisation builds vertical, indoor farms that claim to produce over 300 times more food than ordinary farms, using renewable energy and 97% less water. 💧 It’s a story we’ve been following on The Stream for a while and regular listeners may recall the name... we featured Mike Zelkind, the CEO and co-founder of the business (and Noah’s father) in Season One! In this episode Noah talks about his background, moving from finance to the farming markets, and reflects on the journey with his father. He also tells us about the purple lighting they use across their farms, which weaves its way through their marketing too. (Love that!) 📽️ Full episode now available to watch on YouTube via the link in the comments. You can find The Stream anywhere you listen to your podcasts. 🔔 Make sure to hit the bell to never miss an episode. Special thanks to this season's sponsor, Raymond James. And our charity partner, Frank Water. And thanks to our knowledge partners: British Water, WWF, Water Alliance, DCU Water Institute, #SurplusWater2025#SurplusWater2025, Berkeley Lab Earth and Environmental Sciences Area (EESA) and Water Foundry. #TheStream #VerticalFarming #Acrigulture #FoodProduction #Water #ClimateTech #sustainableagriculture #smartfarming #greentech #innovation #growlights

"It's time for us to break down barriers," says 80 Acres Farms co-founder and Infinite Acres CEO Tisha Livingston. Today, at Infinite Acres headquarters in The Hague, we opened our new Field Lab and Experience Center with partner companies Siemens, SICK Sensor Intelligence, Signify, and TTA. This first-of-its-kind research center is a space where we can collaborate and co-create to advance vertical farming. Our industry has huge potential, but we still have a lot to learn, and this is how we can do it—quickly and efficiently.

This month, the world is celebrating the most exciting two minutes in sports. With all eyes on Kentucky, we’re proud to announce our partnership with the chef and award-winning author Edward Lee. After visiting Louisville for the #Derby in 2001, Lee decided to move to Kentucky. More than twenty years later, he's the chef and owner of 610 Magnolia and Nami in Louisville and the author of three popular books: Smoke & Pickles, Buttermilk Graffiti (winner of the 2019 James Beard Foundation Writing Award), and the new Bourbon Land. Lee has written for the New York Times, Esquire, and Food and Wine, created the documentary Fermented, and hosted the PBS series Mind of a Chef. His innovative approach to Southern cooking has earned him accolades and inspired a new generation of chefs, in #Kentucky and beyond. In 2018, Lee co-founded The LEE Initiative, a non-profit that supports restaurant workers. In 2021, Lee won the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award for his work with The LEE Initiative. This year, the organization won the James Beard Foundation’s Humanitarian of the Year Award. “The food system that we used to be able to rely on is not that reliable anymore,” Lee says. “This could be the future of how we grow vegetables—with integrity, and with flavor, and with sustainability.” You can now find 80 Acres Farms ingredients at Lee's flagship restaurant, 610 Magnolia, and on his table at home!
