Most notably, the Act prohibits trade in wildlife, fish, and plants that have been illegally taken, possessed, transported or sold. 🛠️ How Does the Lacey Act Affect the Woodworking Industry? The Lacey Act impacts the woodworking industry by requiring companies to ensure that their wood, especially imported wood, is legally harvested. Companies must track and document their wood sources to avoid trading illegally harvested timber and facing penalties or legal consequences. @APHIS (Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service) will be adding new filing requirements to the Lacey Act Declaration for all plant and plant product imports, effective in 2024! This WILL impact anyone trading in plant or plant products. To help everyone get ready, there is **FREE training** available, and you can earn CCS/CES credits while you take it!
