Happy 4th of July! Baptist Health System took time to honor Independence Day 2024 and salute our hardworking staff, especially the many veterans who serve as nurses, physicians and in other important roles in our hospitals. Staff enjoyed special 4th of July meals and treats at our hospitals across S.A. and New Braunfels. Today, we thank our brave servicemen and women for the sacrifices they make for our country’s freedoms. And, we thank our dedicated staff who work 24/7 on holidays, like today, to keep our community safe and healthy so they can celebrate and enjoy time with their families. We recently delivered some swag bags to the Converse Fire Department for their annual kids' summer. camp. The camp gives local children the opportunity to learn about the life-saving skills that our EMS teams perform in the community. Great job, Converse Fire! Happy birthday, Resolute Baptist Hospital! Ten years ago on June 24, Resolute Baptist Hospital opened its doors to care for the New Braunfels community. Hospital leaders and staff came together on this anniversary to celebrate and pay tribute to the hospital’s dedicated staff and volunteers who, from the beginning, have helped heal and save lives with compassion and excellence. Among those were 45 employees and one volunteer who have worked at the hospital since it opened a decade ago, as well as Resolute’s Tenet Hero, the late Kathy Martinez, who was posthumously inducted into the Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame. Each was recognized for their commitment and service. Resolute Baptist Hospital is proud of its history and looks forward to a future of continued growth with advancements in technology and vital services so patients and their families have access to high-quality healthcare close to home. Healthy children and families are Baptist Health System’s priority. That’s why the system held its 10th annual Healthy over Hungry Cereal Drive this month collecting thousands of pounds of cereal and monetary donations to donate to the San Antonio Food Bank and the New Braunfels Food Bank. Donations will help feed more than 200,000 kids in our area who don’t know where their next meal is coming from when school lets out for the summer. As part of Baptist’s efforts this month, teams from across all departments -- from doctors, nurses, housekeeping, administration, and others --- competed in a fun and rambunctious cereal-eating contest at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital. 🙏 Special thanks to KENS 5 beloved Nate Ryan, sports anchor, and Weather Chief Bill Taylor, who came out and bravely participated in this soggy sport for a good cause! 🏆 Congrats to St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital’s team who took top honors. 🏆 And, congratulations to Nate and Bill, who also placed in the competition and in the hearts of S.A. for taking time out of their day to be a part of our “community built on care.” Thanks to all of our Baptist Health System staff for going above and beyond to keep our community healthy all year long!
