Chris stepped into the role of a Big Brother driven by a passion for attentive listening, a love for the outdoors, and a commitment to giving his undivided attention to his Little. Since being paired with Malachi nearly eight months ago, their bond has grown stronger. Chris taught Malachi how to ride a bike, and they enjoy exploring their small town of Mt. Horeb. Whether walking the trails or making a trip to Madison for Badger games, their time together is always enriching and memorable.

Their goal is to equip approximately 180 students with essential supplies for academic and personal success. The event will offer traditional school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, pens, and educational materials, as well as personal hygiene items and household goods to ease the burden on their families. This initiative goes beyond handing out supplies; it fosters a sense of community and support. By addressing both academic and personal needs, we strive to create an environment where these young individuals can thrive.  Join us for a 10% give-back night from 4pm-9 pm Wednesday July 17th. Jeane Kropp recounts her and her husband Jay's nineteen-year journey as a Big Couple. She started out wanting to do more in the community, and ended up gaining a lifelong friend in the process. Jeane highlights the impact of mentorship through various chapters of life, from their initial meeting with their Little Brother, Jared, to their continuing bond. She recounts how their time spent together has consisted mostly of everyday activities and a few extraordinary experiences. Their relationship has certainly evolved over time. Enrollment Manager Ana and Match Support Specialist Rachel had an incredible experience at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America National Conference in Dallas, Texas. The week-long event featured inspiring guest speakers and engaging sessions, leaving Ana and Rachel deeply moved by the personal stories of Bigs and Littles whose lives have been positively impacted by mentorship. "It was fantastic to hear from other agency staff and leaders," Ana said. "We exchanged ideas and learned from each other. Being in a room with 2,000 people dedicated to improving the lives of children, families, and our community was truly awesome!"

Big Couple Connor and Joyce were just matched with their Little Brother Bronx in May, and they’ve already embraced the summer in Madison with activities like beach visits and picnics. ☀️ Next, Bronx hopes his Bigs will teach him to ride a bike without training wheels and go swimming at the YMCA. “We've had so much fun getting to know our Little! It's amazing to see him grow each time we're together. During a picnic, he looked at us with a huge grin and asked, 'Why are all these foods I like?' It made us so happy to see how a small gesture like packing a picnic could bring him so much joy!"
