As the fourth week of my internship with State of Ohio’s Department of Development comes to a close, I would like to take some time to reflect on my experience so far.
First and foremost, I would like to thank the Minority Business Development Division for proving me with such an amazing opportunity. Both Monica L. Womack, MPA and Michael Muñoz have both been amazing mentors and have taught me a significant amount about the Cannabis Equity and Jobs program Ohio has been working diligently to cultivate. My skills in terms of both entrepreneurship and marketing have been sharpened in my time with the division working on this program.
I would also like to thank BeneLeaves for hosting Monica L. Womack, MPA and I on a tour of the facility to help improve our understanding of not only how cannabis is processed, but how the industry has been thriving and developing since the legalization of adult use in November of 2023.
Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank all the employees under the Minority Business Development Division that have poured priceless knowledge and experience into me during my time here so far. I’ve learned so much about so many different areas of business from a new perspective never before seen and for this, I am extremely grateful.
I look forward to concluding this internship in the coming weeks and absorbing as much information as possible while I’m still in contact with these intelligent, insightful individuals.
