🌿 Circular Bioeconomy in Practice – Workshop sparks insights and inspiration! 🌿
Bioeconomy value-chains were the focus of our BIO2REG workshop "Circular Bioeconomy in Practice – Discovering Value Chains in Bioeconomy Model Regions" which took place on June 20, 2024 at Reflex GmbH & Co. KG in Düren, Germany. The event brought together entrepreneurs, industry experts, and R&D professionals dedicated to advancing bio-based value chains. Organised by BIO2REG coordinator BioökonomieREVIER and supported by Homo Silvestris Europae, the workshop was a great success and well received.

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Best practices, innovative technologies, and emerging trends in bio-based value chains were shared by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Pfeifer & Langen GmbH & Co. KG, AI.Land GmbH and Luxinnovation GIE, Institute of Urban Environment and Human Resources | Panteion University.
𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Participants from diverse sectors like food, fibers, chemicals, and agriculture technology, forestry and wood products connected for potential collaborations.
𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫: A firsthand look at Reflex GmbH & Co. KG's application of bioeconomy principles in specialty paper manufacturing, their high-quality raw materials, traditional papermaking craftsmanship and innovative technologies.
𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Tailored discussions addressed specific business challenges, fostering practical solutions.
𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Enriched dialogue and knowledge exchange on transforming natural resources into added value.

The following day, BioökonomieREVIER organised a road trip showcasing a living lab on agrivoltaic systems and other major transformation sites in the Rhenish mining region transitioning from coal to bio-based economy.
