  • Today is the day! The BSO team is thrilled to launch our Online Community. After the success of our inaugural symposium earlier this year, we've created an online space for all Black creatives and filmmakers, both in front of and behind the camera. Join us to network, share resources, discuss your favorite shows, and get exclusive access to BSO programming and opportunities. Every month, we'll share a blog post highlighting our community members, tips and tricks on how to succeed in the industry. This month's blog post will focus on the lack of diversity for textured hair in Canadian productions, with tips from industry experts on how to break into the industry. • BSO Shares: The CRTC has initiated two consultations to ask for help in developing a regulatory policy for online streamers, one for Described Video (DV) and audio description requirements and one for Closed-captioning (CC). Existing broadcasters have had regulatory requirements since 2009, with increased obligations in 2016. The DSO would like to ask our community questions about your experiences with Described Video and with Closed-captioning, both as a user and as a creator, to help inform our submissions to these two consultations. Please fill out this survey by July 31, 2024: https://lnkd.in/gEsg9M4c
