🌟 We are incredibly honored to have participated in the “Practicing African American Postpartum Care Training” led by the esteemed Mama Shafia on July 18th. 🌟 Our BMBFA breastfeeding peer counselor and doula trainee graduates had the extraordinary opportunity to learn traditional wellness practices for the postpartum period. Learning from Mama Shafia Monroe was an enriching and inspiring experience that we will cherish and carry forward in our community work. 💜 Thank you, Mama Shafia, for your wisdom and guidance. We are excited to apply these invaluable teachings to support and uplift our families. 🙏🏽 #BMBFA #DoulaTraining #PostpartumCare #MamaShafia #TraditionalWellness #DoulaLife #CommunityCare #Breastfeeding

🌟 An Unforgettable Evening at the White House! 🌟 Our Founding Executive Director had the profound honor of attending the Juneteenth Concert at the White House, invited by President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden. This exceptional evening, held on the South Lawn, celebrated freedom, resilience, and unity with mesmerizing performances by legendary artists such as Dougie Fresh, Trombone Shorty, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Kirk Franklin, and more. 🎤🎶 Juneteenth, marking the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans, resonates deeply with our mission to advocate for Black breastfeeding and maternal health. The historical struggle for freedom and equality continues today as we address inequities in maternal care. The celebration of Juneteenth underscores the importance of recognizing and addressing systemic issues, ensuring that every Black mother receives the care, respect, and dignity she deserves. 🤱🏾🤰🏽 Being at the White House holds special significance, as our ancestors' forced labor built this iconic place. Their spirit, legacy and contributions empower us to claim our rightful space in such historic moments. Check out our highlights from this momentous event as we continue our journey towards health equity. ✨ #Juneteenth #WhiteHouse #BMBFA #BlackMaternalHealth #HealthEquity #RacialEquity #UnityInDiversity #HistoricMoment #HonoredGuest #OurAncestorsBuiltThis
