Last night, the Breakthrough New York Associates Board joined our college students for a summer networking event and discussed securing internships, post-college career planning and more. Special thanks to Vice Chair and BTNY Alum Sebastian T. Sanchez and Cushman & Wakefield for hosting this great event.
About us
Breakthrough New York empowers motivated students from low-income backgrounds to graduate from college and pursue a fulfilling career. Beginning in middle school, we provide the academic preparation, guidance, and mentoring our students need to access competitive high schools. In high school, we focus on skill development, application assistance, and enrichment opportunities to prepare students to gain entry to and succeed in rigorous four-year colleges. We support students during college to ensure graduation and career readiness. Our near-peer relationship model recruits college students as teaching fellows and mentors to support scholars through this ten-year journey while sparking their own interest in education.

We are so excited to welcome Samantha Longlade, SHRM-SCP as a new member of Breakthrough New York's Associates Board! See what she has to say ⬇ "I was first introduced to Breakthrough New York through my company, Campbell Lutyens. Our charity committee and employees held mock interview days, resume building workshops, and I was lucky enough to attend the 2023 BTNY Gala where I was able to hear directly from the amazing college alumni about all of their successes. It was so clear to me that BTNY had a unique mission, providing impactful resources and mentorship to the students by working alongside their amazing teachers, resulting in these students being one step closer to a rewarding career. I am so excited about joining the Associates Board of Breakthough New York, helping expand their mission and I cannot wait to get to work” she says.
