During Dr. Mildred García's first week as chancellor of The California State University, she hosted a meet and greet to connect with employees at the California State University, Office of the Chancellor. She expressed her gratitude and admiration for all who serve #CalState's 460,000 students. "The CSU changes lives. It transforms entire families, strengthens our society and drives our state's economic vitality. And you all have a part in that. You are resilient, you have integrity, you are creative. And above all, you have never lost sight of the belief in our mission. A vital mission. In other words, one of the reasons I came is because of people like you who I know are working every single day to lift the CSU and ensure that everybody that walks in has a wonderful experience," –CSU Chancellor García.

I am honored to share that I am one of 19 students who have successfully completed the Job Shadowing Program at CSU California State University, Office of the Chancellor! This incredible experience allowed me to gain invaluable insights and hands-on experience in my field of interest. Throughout the program, I had the unique opportunity to observe multiple professionals and attend CSU board meetings, which offered a comprehensive view of the operational and strategic aspects of the industry. This experience has not only broadened my knowledge but also solidified my passion for pursuing a career in this field. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the dedicated professionals such as Peter Mosinskis, MS IT, PMP who shared their time and expertise with me, as well as to the CSU team for organizing and coordinating such a beneficial program.

This just in: The CSU Board of Trustees has appointed Ronald Rochon to serve as president of California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Rochon currently serves as president of the University of Southern Indiana. With over 30 years in higher education, Rochon’s academic and professional career has focused on advocating for educational excellence, access and equity. “Dr. Rochon is an innovative and student-centered leader who fosters a culture of collaboration and cultivates a community of care at the institutions he has served,” said Wenda Fong, chair of the CSU Board of Trustees. Dr. Rochon will assume the university presidency on July 22, 2024.
