🎉MEET THE RECRUITERS🎉
Today's spotlight: Catie Beth Bishop
➡️How long have you been with Carolina Handling?
💡3 years! Before joining Carolina Handling, I was an agency recruiter focused in Supply Chain & Logistics. CHL was a customer of ours, so I’ve known about the organization for almost a decade and always heard positive things. Now that I have been with the organization for 3 years, I can attest to all the positive things I heard because they’re true!
➡️What area of the business do you focus on recruiting?
💡I am primarily focused on internal support functions and our #intralogistics solutions group. I flex in to support #sales and #service roles based on the needs of the organization!
➡️What do you like to do in your free time?
💡I have two dogs, Georgia, and Charlotte, who are my tiny best friends and I love spending time with them. My friends and I like to bowl or play any type of sport, play board games or old school Nintendo 64 video games like Super Smash Brothers. I love to bake! I make all my nieces and nephews 1st birthday smash cakes and I learned how to make French macarons when we were perpetually in the house in 2020.
➡️What advice do you have for someone who is about to apply to a new job?
💡Some of the basics; read the job description and check out the company. If you can find someone on LinkedIn who is currently doing the job, it never hurts to reach out to see if they would talk with you about it. Once you have an #interview with a recruiter, come prepared with questions. So many times, I will talk to candidates who don’t have any questions about the role they are interviewing for. Coming to an interview with a curious mindset is always helpful, the more information you can glean from the conversation, the better. It helps you to evaluate if the role is something you would want to do day in and day out. The other big thing I recommend is #networking! I know it can be tough sometimes, but we always say in our organization, good people know good people! You never know who you might know who can help hinge you to meet someone who has an opportunity for you that you wouldn’t have known about if you didn’t ask. A lot of people are open to helping others get opportunities, I recommend networking and utilizing LinkedIn as a tool to help you gather more information about an organization to help you prepare for those interviews as you move through the hiring process within an organization.
➡️Why do you love working at Carolina Handling?
💡I love working at CHL because of the people I get to work with! I am a little biased since I get to help hire them, but I think we hire some of the best people and our people is what makes CHL such a great place to work!
