🙏 🇺🇸 A PRAYER FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY 🇺🇸 🙏 Heavenly Father, On #IndependenceDay, we give thanks for the blessings of liberty and the freedoms we hold dear. We are grateful for the vision of our forefathers, who laid the foundation of this great nation, and for those who sacrificed to preserve our freedom. Lord, we ask that you strengthen our resolve to stand against oppression in all its forms and to uphold the principles of justice and equality. Inspire our leaders to govern with compassion and a commitment to the common good. Help us, as citizens, to engage with our communities and to advocate for what is right and just. Fill our hearts with hope and resilience, so that we may continue to strive for a more perfect union. Let the spirit of unity and liberty prevail in our land, and may we never take for granted the precious gift of freedom. In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.

In our newest #WeAreCalledUS member video, Bon Secours Mercy Health's Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer Odesa Stapleton talks with system leaders Wael Haidar MD MBA, Uyon Johnson and Jill Jansen about efforts to confront #racism by achieving #HealthEquity. Their works includes reporting primary care metrics by race and ethnicity to identify gaps; #advocating legislative policies on workforces shortages, #AffordableHousing and #HumanTrafficking; and engaging community members in churches and beauty and barber shops where they can get blood pressure readings and information about securing food and housing.
