Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi is accepting applicants for Deputy Director of the #CityAndCountyOfHonolulu Department of Design and Construction (DDC). DDC is the lead city department responsible for the design, construction, and repair of the city’s infrastructure and facilities, and the Director leads a team of approximately 197 employees divided into 4 major divisions: Mechanical/Electrical, Facilities, Civil and Land. The successful applicant will (a) report to and work closely with DDC Director – Haku Milles (b) assist in leading and managing an efficient and professional organization that is focused on doing the right project at the right time and the right cost, always keeping at the forefront the obligation to be good stewards of public funds, (c) have excellent program management skills and the ability to ensure effective planning, design, project/construction management and inspection, and (d) have experience with federal, state and county-funded CIP (Capital Improvement Program) construction projects from application for funds to project management and execution through completion. Prior experience successfully leading similar large, complex construction and engineering organizations is highly recommended.
