On Wednesday, June 5, the City of Mountain View celebrated the graduation of the 2024 Chinese Language Civic Leadership Academy. A small ceremony was held at Mountain View City Hall to honor the participants and allow the graduates to share their experiences with local leaders and family members in attendance. The free, eight-week-long program is designed to improve participants’ engagement with and understanding of local government and City services. It also aims to encourage their civic engagement, leadership and volunteerism in the community. In addition, the Academy prepares individuals to be ambassadors in the community and serve on City Council advisory bodies and committees or take on other leadership roles. At the end of the ceremony, Alice Lee, one of the graduates said, “Now we have the responsibility and duty to be ambassadors for the City.” For more information on the Academy, visit MountainView.gov/MEP.

This award recognized our work on the El Camino Real and Castro Street sewer improvements project. The project replaced approximately 4,000 feet of sewer mains, and was selected for the award as it represents effective and efficient public works processes, including starting with a routine maintenance schedule. 🎉Congratulations to our staff for this recognition of a job well done! #PublicWorks #recognition
