Thank you to the Notre Dame Global Partnerships team for inviting us to be a part of a recent event welcoming new Vice President and James E. Rohr Director of Athletics Pete Bevacqua. We enjoyed hearing his insights on the future of collegiate sports and Notre Dame Athletics. The program is in great hands! Credit Union 1’s commitment to community is organization-wide, which is why we formalized the incredible volunteer work our team members were already doing in their communities into the CU1 Cares program. Each quarter, our team members and members will be spearheading a new project to give back directly to the communities we serve. This quarter, Credit Union 1 will be collecting new school supplies at all CU1 branches to help local students start the school year off right. The drive will run through October 1, and all supplies will be donated to students in communities local to our branches. Credit Union 1 has teamed up with The Golic Family Foundation to give out grants to local nonprofits doing great work in South Bend and Chicagoland. We are proud to announce that Weish4Ever is the first grant recipient of 2024! The Andrew Weishar Foundation (Weish4Ever) was created in honor of Andrew Weishar, who selflessly asked his younger brother Dan to pay forward the acts of kindness and generosity that had been shown to their family during his cancer battle. His legacy now lives on through Weish4Ever, a foundation dedicated to uplifting adolescents and young adults battling cancer, giving them direct financial relief.
