📅 On June 27th, 2024, the Connected Health & Wellbeing Cluster, in collaboration with EIT Health Ireland-UK, hosted the "Innovative Synergies: Integrating Data and Collaboration in Healthcare" conference at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT). This one-day conference, supported by InterTradeIreland , the Health Innovation Research Alliance Northern Ireland (HIRANI), and dConnect brought together experts to discuss the future of digital health in Europe.

💡 “Progress & Priorities” - Focused on data collaboration in public healthcare, featuring speakers from HSE and HSC NI including, Loretto Grogan, niall halliday, Julie Bellew, Irene Finnegan and Dr. Frances Burns
🔎 Industry Case Studies were presented by Heart Rhythm Ireland's CEO Robert Kelly on their AI advancements in cardiac care and by Marie Therese Connolly from Screen Clinical Limited Clinical’s patient-level data utilisation.
🌐 The European Health Data Space (EHDS) Panel discussion session considered the EHDS's potential for cross-border health data sharing and innovation. This session was chaired by Elaine Murray and included experts Leah Dowdall, Loretto Grogan, Julia Palma and Dr. Frances Burns
📚 Successful data management and collaboration case studies in academia and healthcare, featuring AI-driven dementia care and rare diseases research were presented by experts Joan Condell, Suja Somanadhan and Julia Palma
📢 A Panel Discussion chaired by Thomas Coleman on AI Exploring the EU AI Act’s impact on healthcare ecosystems and how different industries, such as creative, sports and health, can learn from each other included Shona D'Arcy, Roisin Loughran, Arthur McMahon and Ceara Treacy PhD
💥 Collaborative projects between industry and healthcare providers, including virtual patient monitoring and eHealth initiatives included experts Megan Smith, Adrian Coyle and Aedin Culhane.
🌟 The conference fostered innovation, addressed the dynamic challenges of data management, and emphasised the importance of balancing data protection with data sharing to enhance patient care across Ireland, Europe and beyond.
