Coaching Leaders for Purposeful Growth | Career Evolution Catalyst | Communications Strategist | USC Adjunct | HBO Alum

By nature, I’m an optimist. But over the past few weeks, an unfamiliar frown tried to take hold. Forces beyond my control loomed large. Today is a new day, and like many of you, I am feeling inspired. Some practices to amplify this shift: -Get to the gym and fire up those endorphins.  -Connect with communities for information and inspiration. -Remember that the only thing that I can control is how I show up. It’s a new day. Let’s do this!

Unlocking potential with improv-infused leadership coaching and facilitation | Executive & Leadership Coach | Corporate Facilitator | ex-Yahoo/Verizon + ex-Hearst | ICF Certified Coach | Women in Tech

Exciting news! 🎉 I'm thrilled to announce the launch of "Love and Leadership," a new podcast I'm co-hosting with my husband, Michael Sharkey, RCFE! Are you looking to level up your leadership skills, drive real change in your organization, or become a more effective and empathetic leader? Then this podcast is for you. Each week, we'll dive into critical leadership topics, share practical strategies, break down influential books, and interview inspiring leaders and experts. And yes, we'll sprinkle in a bit of humor along the way (because leadership shouldn't always be so serious, right?). Drawing from my background in executive coaching and Mike's extensive experience in hospitality and senior living, we're bringing different perspectives to the leadership conversation. Our goal? To help leaders at all levels amplify their impact and create more leaders in turn. Our trailer is live now on all major podcast platforms, and we're dropping our first three full episodes on August 7th. We'd love for you to join us on this leadership journey! Please listen to the trailer, follow the podcast, and share it with anyone you think would find it helpful. You can find more information and all of our podcast follow links here: https://lnkd.in/gYEDr6KF

Personal Branding and LinkedIn™ Presence Expertise | Panel and Podcast Guest | The Good Witch of LinkedIn™ ✨

The first thing my client said when she joined our zoom was, "I've never posted anything - ever." She was stuck. Posting content loomed in her head, the elephant in the room that became bigger and bigger the longer she waited.  After years in corporate, she had had enough and had started her own boutique consultancy. Her target clients, she knew, were on LinkedIn. But the idea of putting her thoughts out there was terrifying.  She was me in 2020, so I knew exactly how she felt. The first post that I wrote (and "wrote' is up for debate when I look back on it -- it was a repost) felt like I was jumping into the Atlantic without a life vest. So we chatted. At the end of the hour, she had several strong, viable ideas for content pillars, as well as a posting and engagement strategy that she felt was manageable. Now, she posts twice a week, plans content in advance, and finds LinkedIn to be the resource for clients that she had hoped it would be. How can I help you make the most out of Linkedin?

Builder of Better - Lives, Leaders and Workplaces. 🛠️ TEDx 🔴 Speaker & Coach, Well-Being Expert, Culture Strategist and Play Advocate. 📣 The catalyst to your next level up.✨

I am not just one thing. Even though I've tried many times to be...that one type of person to fit in, get the job, be liked, etc, etc. But I'm many things. We all are. I have many passions and multiple areas of expertise because I've been around for a minute... Yet, the most common advice I've received since diving into the world of being an entrepreneur is to pick you niche. Niche down as much as possible. Find the one type of person you serve. They say (whoever they are) that it's the best way to become successful. Yet, my success in my corporate career was based on my knowing and being many things as a COO. Every time I try to follow this new advice, I feel suffocated. I just can't squeeze myself into that small of a box. I'm multi-passionate, multi-talented and multi-certified with multiple degrees for those who feel like that matters. (I love to learn!) I do have one mission though...to help make life better for all of us. And one piece of advice - it's not about finding the ONE thing, it's about getting really CLEAR on who you are and who you want to BE in the world and aligning the DOING with that. So let's start a trend where we share all of our greatness and connect on the things that, well, connect us. 😄 I'll start. Things I'm passionate about: - Eliminating burnout and end of life regrets - Creating lives we love - Health & Well-being (current areas I'm studying dementia & menopause) - Play - Elder care - Traveling - Financial Independence - Nature - Learning about AI and how it will change our lives - Cats - Warm drinks and cozy things - Matcha is my favorite Things you can hire me for (my areas of expertise): - Life and Leadership Coaching - Speaker Coaching - Play Workshops - Workplace Well-Being - Workplace Transformation - An improv show - Yoga, Ayurveda and Energy Work - Meditation & Mindfulness Programs If you are passionate about or need support in any of these things, let's chat! I'd love to learn more about you.

This week, we are delighted to feature our member Erin O'Mara. Here are some things you need to know about her: 🔶 Erin is passionate about quality journalism and is on a mission to make everyone else love it too! 🔶 She believes the human experience connects us and when moments of triumph or strife are shared — When we have access to a shared set of facts — We have the opportunity to learn and grow.  🔶 A core belief: Words matter. Erin strives for thoughtful word choice and maximum impact. 🔶 Another: "Communication is a loop and as perfect as my word choice might be, it's my responsibility to make sure the person I'm talking to understands the meaning I'm trying to convey." 🔶 In high school, teachers told Erin that she was terrible at math. The good news is this led her to develop her critical thinking skills. The other good news is that she learned we shouldn't believe the stories people tell about us, even if the story-tellers are authority figures. We get to be our own narrators. We get to decide what's true, about and for ourselves. 🔶 Disinformation and misinformation scare her greatly, and she works hard to improve media literacy. Pssst: Birds aren't real. Pass it on. 😉 🔶 Erin knows that humor is a great connector and laughter is a memory-maker. She is always looking for more of both. 🔶 Her signature drink is a margarita. 🔶 She loves to write and is proud of her column, Never Not Amazed, in her local paper, the Harpswell Anchor. She is also co-editing an anthology of essays and has dreams of writing a book. 🔶 Breaking news alert -- Erin is going to have much to share in the coming weeks about the new entity she's developing to serve the public good. We can't wait to hear more about what Erin is working on -- and we are so proud of her work and the impact she has had on journalism and media literacy.

On July 27, 2023, with the encouragement of the DIY Influence | Thought Leadership Community, I made my first post on LinkedIn. This week, as we celebrate the independence of the United States, I’m feeling both reflective and slightly nostalgic. In re-reading my previous 98 (!) posts, I see a common thread woven through each one: the importance of community, identity, and values in leadership. These elements shape how we lead and connect with others, driving the humanity, compassion, and care foundational to great leadership. 💡 Community reminds us that we are stronger together. By fostering connections and support, we create environments where everyone can thrive. 💡Identity is about knowing ourselves and embracing our unique strengths and experiences. When leaders are authentic to themselves, they inspire trust and commitment in their teams. 💡Values guide our actions and decisions. Staying true to our core principles ensures that we lead with integrity and purpose. Thank you for joining me on this journey! Your engagement and insights are appreciated.   I’m committed to building a future where leadership is grounded in humanity, compassion, and care. A journey is better together, so I hope you come along for the ride! #Leadership #Community #Identity #Values
