"As a DSP, I was able to have a direct impact on the lives of people who need supports and I could see each day the difference I was able to make," shared Austyn Addams, Oregon Talent Development/Trainer. "As a trainer, I get to help DSPs to be great at their jobs, and support the people served in a different way. This is my way of making the world just a little better." At Dungarvin, we have many opportunities to move throughout the organization, just as Austyn did! Over 85 people attended to celebrate the milestones of five Dungarvin employees: Bruce Mayberry (15 years), Jen Acree (20 years), Kathy Tasker (20 years), Steve Darnell (15 years) and Andras Palyer (10 years). The day was full of fun, laughter, sharing memories and speeches for those being recognized. Congratulations to all those who were honored! Congratulations to ANCOR DSP of the Year nominee for Oklahoma, Corinne Martinez. Corinne could not be more dedicated or a stronger advocate when it comes to the individuals she serves. One individual she supports deeply struggles with behavior issues, and as staff have come and gone, Corinne has never wavered once. "I remember receiving a call from Corinne telling me she needed to give two of her staff a couple days off so they could see their kids so she would be working three 16-hour shifts in a row," shared her supervisor, Teri Arquilla. "I thought, 'Wow, that’s dedication!' You see, she not only advocates for the individuals in her care, but also for co-workers." We are grateful for staff like you, Corinne! Thank you for your dedication and passion to our industry. #dungarvin #dungarvinway #dungarvincareers #oklahoma #RecognizingDSPs

It's finally the 4th -- #HappyIndependenceDay! Over the years, we have many fond Fourth of July memories. At Dungarvin, our work is about providing supports for people to be independent. That's the essence of the person-centered approach we take in our daily interaction. Providing individuals with the support they need to live as independent a life as possible: their choices, their homes, their opportunities to live as they choose. Wishing everyone a safe holiday with their loved ones and families of choice. #dungarvin #dungarvincareers #dungarvinway

July is #DisabilityPrideMonth! This month honors the contributions made by people with disabilities to our society and LGBTQIA+ community. We are so proud of each of the individuals who identify as part of this community, and proudly celebrate alongside you! The first Disability Pride Month was celebrated in 1990 to commemorate the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Today, Disability Pride Month is a time to elevate the voices of everyone who identifies as a member of this community. Let's take a moment to learn what the colors of the Disability Pride Flag represent: • Green is for sensory disabilities. • Blue represents emotional and psychiatric disabilities. • White stands for non-visible and undiagnosed disabilities. • Gold is for neurodiversity. • Red represents physical disabilities. Happy Disability Pride Month! #pride #pridemonth #dungarvin #dungarvinway #dungarvincareers
