It was a fantastic experience to gather my new team in Chicago last week for two days of productive meetings. We focused on building relationships and setting the course for our future endeavors. Interesting insights from EPRI on the future of data centers and electricity consumption in the U.S. Data Centers are projected to consume up to 9.1% of U.S. electricity generation annually by 2030, a significant increase from the current estimated 4%. Generative AI Models applications could require about ten times the electricity, ranging from 0.3 to 2.9 watt-hours. To support rapid AI/Data Center expansion, enhancing operational efficiencies is crucial. How much water can AI-ready Edged Data Centers save? Visualize this. New AI chips are driving rack densities to 120 kW/rack and beyond.
