Put your values to work. Act on equity.

About us

People are what matters most in almost every field — especially in social impact organizations. Yet default practices reinforce existing structures, costing organizations the genius and diversity they need. Edgility does more than run executive searches — we help organizations bring practice and structure into alignment with values. We look at the data, ask the tough questions and—when we need to—disrupt the status quo. We’ve learned that real change can’t come from relying on the same systems and “best practices” that got us here in the first place. Our clients want to live up to their values, but it’s not always easy to know where to start. They need a trusted guide to get there. We walk them through an equity-driven process focused on finding, hiring and retaining exceptional leaders, developing transparent compensation programs, and building inclusive environments where employees thrive. This is the new standard. And we challenge everyone to meet us here.

Did you know that new pay transparency laws will go into effect on January 1, 2025, in #Minnesota and #Illinois? Sometimes adopting new laws can create challenges, and if you're at a smaller organization with a limited budget, you may worry that these laws will challenge your organization's ability to be competitive: but you don’t need to. Edgility’s Pay Transparency Roadmap guides organizations of all sizes in implementing pay transparency in a way that benefits employees by staying competitive in the talent marketplace while meeting all legal requirements in their area. Hadley Kornacki and Mara Cooper are excited to introduce the new Executive Director of the NYC Charter School of the Arts - Hannah Kehn! A performing artist herself, Ms. Kehn credits experiences in the arts with providing her an outlet for expression and empowerment. Ms Kehn graduated from Northeastern University, where teaching experiences in Ghana and Boston confirmed her desire to become a teacher. She taught English Language Arts at a performing arts magnet middle school in Brooklyn. She went on to earn a master’s degree in teaching from Pace University and a master’s degree in school leadership from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. As a Catapult Fellow in Denver, Ms. Kehn learned from schools and leaders across the country who are effectively preparing students to become innovators. Ms. Kehn also has experience supporting schools to strategically integrate the arts and was the first Implementation Coordinator for the Turnaround Arts Initiative under the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities in Washington, D.C. In 2017, Ms. Kehn founded a small civics-focused charter high school in Queens and served as principal there for seven years. She has facilitated "Deep Dives" at Deeper Learning Conferences in Boston and San Diego and was published this year in the text: Building Democratic Schools and Learning Environments: A Global Perspective, (Palgrave MacMillan, 2024). Congratulations, Hannah and the entire NYC Charter School of the Arts community! #EdgilityConsulting #NYC

Our Edgility Consulting team loved working with Marin Promise Partnership on their CEO Search. We are excited for the staff, board, community partners, and Richard Raya as he takes the helm! Richard has over 20 years of executive-level experience, focused on bringing elected officials, administrators, funders, and the community together to improve outcomes for low-income families. In his most recent role as Chief Strategy Officer of Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA), Richard helped MEDA’s Promise Neighborhood (MPN) become one of the only Promise Neighborhoods in the country to replace its federal funding with a mix of philanthropic, city, and state funding. Richard helped initiate systems change across San Francisco by aligning MPN’s community-led approach with the Mayor’s COVID recovery plan. His leadership created holistic, cradle-to-career planning processes in the city’s hardest-hit neighborhoods and the first Promise City plan in the nation. He is currently a Senior Fellow at Harvard’s EdRedesign Lab, an Ascend Fellow with the Aspen Institute, and a Board Member for StriveTogether. “I am honored to join Marin Promise Partnership and build upon the incredible work that has been accomplished. I am committed to fostering collaboration among our partners and tapping into the power of place and resident voice to ensure every student in Marin County has the support and resources they need to succeed. Together, we will continue to align our efforts and create lasting change for generations to come.” - Richard Raya, Incoming CEO of Marin Promise Partnership

Serena Moy and our Edgility Consulting search team did a brilliant job of supporting Marin Promise Partnership on this important CEO search. Thrilled for the org and Richard Raya on this match. As a graduate of San Rafael High (in one of MPP’s target communities), this search is close to my heart and means so much personally as well as professionally. Can’t wait to see what the future will hold for my home community and its families and youth with Richard at the helm.

I am proud to announce that I will be the new CEO of Marin Promise Partnership. My charge will be to help improve academic results across Marin County. In order to do so, we must work collectively to attack poverty. Marin is one of the most beautiful counties in the Bay Area, but it is also the most racially segregated and it has the highest poverty rate. These things did not happen by accident, but because of a history of government-endorsed redlining and other discriminatory practices, so we require intentional, place-based policies and practices to change them. Community leaders are already coming together for a more equitable Marin County, and I am eager to join them in this work, bringing with me the collaborative, community-driven framework used by Mission Promise Neighborhood and other StriveTogether communities across the country. I start this new role late next month, and in the meanwhile I will continue writing my book about place-based collaboration and serving as a Senior Advisor to the Promise City initiative in San Francisco. I am honored to be part of this local and national movement for community-driven systems change. Read more about it in our latest blog post: https://lnkd.in/gTiTb9Pg #SystemsChange
