How do you land a career in AI? Liran Agami, Senior Manager of Software Engineering on our Search Relevance Team, says lead with problem-solving — not just experience. Working on a new tech is about flexibility, innovation, and transferable skills. “Don’t be intimidated by the job description,” she says. “Go to the interview and talk about your experience, how it’s relevant, and what value you can add to the team.” It's also crucial to bring new perspectives to an emerging technology and create diverse teams. “We have fewer women in the pipeline for these jobs — we’re working to increase the number of diverse candidates. So, just apply and make your experience shine.” Learn more about Liran's own career journey as well as her tips for breaking into AI here: https://go.es.io/3LAcYlg #LifeAtElastic #WomenInTech

Thank you SiliconANGLE & theCUBE and Google Cloud for featuring Ken Exner on the Marketplace Marvel series with John Furrier and Stephen Orban! Check out their full discussion ⬇
Exploring the benefits of Google Cloud Marketplace for Elastic 🚀 Join #theCUBE for this special Google Cloud Marketplace Marvel series, in which John Furrier hears from Ken Exner, Chief Product Officer for Elastic, and Stephen Orban, VP of Migrations, ISVs, & Marketplace at Google Cloud, on how their collaboration with Google Marketplace boosts their go-to-market speed. “When customers were using a Marketplace sales motion, there was less friction in the process. They didn't have to go through procurement, they could immediately start using Elastic on Google Cloud Platform. This meant greater overall consumption and a better avenue for Elastic,” shares Exner. 📺 Watch the complete discussion: https://lnkd.in/gNc5SVeu

Elasticians receive 40 hours of Volunteer Time Off (VTO) annually as part of our benefits package to support the causes they care about. Here’s how some Elasticians around the world have used their VTO: ⭐ Martin Hacker, Senior Director of Sales, Public Sector, and a team of 11 Elasticians volunteered to help the unhoused community in Berlin, Germany. Martin's third annual initiative involved preparing food, distributing donations, and cleaning the Berlin main train station. ⭐ Jorge Sanz, Principal Software Engineer, spent his VTO mapping roads with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team after the earthquake in Morocco, ensuring aid reached those in need. ⭐ Julie McDowell (She/Her), VP of Global Recruiting, volunteers at a local cat café charity in Houston, Texas, providing a safe space for cats until they find their forever homes. ⭐ A group of Elasticians in India volunteered with The Akshaya Patra Foundation, the world's largest NGO school meal program, to visit a government school and donate stationary and sports supplies. Through monetary contributions to The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Elasticians have donated 228,659 total meals this year! Thank you to all our Elasticians for the incredible impact you have made through VTO in your local communities and around the world. #LifeAtElastic #CommunityImpact #VTO

Donna Lambert, Software Engineer I at Elastic, is used to facing challenges head-on and using them as growth opportunities. When she wanted to level up her tech skills mid-career, she decided to enroll in a 6 month, immersive boot camp. It was intimidating as someone older than most of the other students, she shares. "I thought: Is it too late for me to switch? Would I be able to keep up with them?” But the boot camp was exactly what she wanted — a chance to grow. Today, she works as a back-end engineer, writing APIs that facilitate our billing functions. “Growth is more about expanding my knowledge and never becoming stagnant in my day-to-day work.” Donna embodies our Source Code tenet “Progress, Simple, Perfection” by embracing opportunities to learn and grow.
