Their products are found in small and large venues worldwide, such as theatres, churches, restaurants, hotels, schools, television studios, casinos, theme parks, and opera houses. Founded in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1975, ETC was begun with the passionate belief that there was a better way to make a lighting control console. A small group of university students challenged themselves by creating a microprocessor-based console that outdid other boards on the market at the time. That entrepreneurial spirit grew into an award-winning business. To learn more about ETC and our history of innovation, visit www.etcconnect.com.

At the Lithuania Symphony Orchestra congress Hall and National Drama Theatre, Sonus Exsertus wowed us with their ingenious use of ETC’s ArcSystem Navis fixtures. These versatile lights, typically found at low ceiling levels, now grace the stage, illuminating musicians and doubling as house lights. Edmundas Zizys, the mastermind behind this transformation, prioritized precision. Shadows were banished from musical scores, and performers took center stage. Bonus: The F-Drive LED driver system streamlined cabling, proving that innovation doesn’t just light up the stage—it simplifies behind-the-scenes complexity. https://hubs.la/Q02H_Njm0

Lighting Designer Lap Chi Chu sat down with ETC to discuss his experience with tightly shuttered playing areas, clean lines, and the judicious use of pink on Suffs. Short for "suffragists," the musical was first produced at The Public Theater in 2022 and traces the later years of the struggle for women’s right to vote. Chu also dove into his thriving design career, his teaching career at UCLA, and how he balances it all. Yesterday we had the privilege to be invited to the Electronic Theatre Controls Studio in Dubai by Vlad Kraynov. We saw their range of moving heads including the Ministar that has a very unique colour mixing system. We also played the skittles game which looks at how our eyes preserve the colour spectrum and how every single person views colour differently. Thank you Mark Larcombe for bringing this to our attention the last time we saw you. It was a very interesting insite into how we can develop lighting designs with colour in mind. And I couldn't resist getting my hands on the Apex 5 for a bit, a stunning desk with a huge array of features that make programming for shows and busking shows so much faster Thank you Vlad Kraynov for your time and wonderful knowledge

The Gene Leahy Mall, Heartland of America Park, and Lewis & Clark Landing have been transformed into a stunning 72-acre space thanks to Heartland Scenic Studio, Atelier Ten, and ETC. Read the full story to find out why LD Joshua Spitzig of Atelier Ten says, "Using lighting to let people be together in nature is something really special that lighting designers get to do, and the controls are a crucial part of that. ETC supports that mission, that creation of an environment where people can be closer to nature and spend time outdoors with each other." https://hubs.la/Q02Gh6GG0
