🚨Super proud to share news of a dramatic rescue operation that took place this past Sunday in the Mountain Pine Ridge area of #Belize. Several of our esteemed students from the Belize National Fire Service and the Belize Institute of Search and Rescue Training were involved in a successful mission to save a couple trapped in the swollen Mopan River. Using their advanced training and quick thinking, the rescue crews employed a raft tethered to a cross-river highline system to reach and extract the stranded individuals. This complex maneuver demonstrates the high level of skill and preparedness our Belizean partners bring to emergency situations. We're happy to report that both trapped persons were safely rescued, suffering only minor hypothermia. This positive outcome is a testament to the effectiveness of our training programs and the dedication of our emergency responders. The operation was a collaborative effort, with crews receiving valuable assistance from Spanish Lookout Fire & EMS and the Belize Defense Force. This teamwork highlights the strong bonds between various emergency services in Belize, all working together to keep our communities safe. We couldn't be more proud of our Belizean partners for their bravery, skill, and professionalism in handling this dangerous situation. Their actions have undoubtedly saved lives and showcased the importance of proper training and equipment in emergency response. This incident also serves as a crucial reminder about water safety. We urge everyone to exercise extreme caution around fast-moving water, especially during periods of heavy rainfall. Conditions can change rapidly, and even seemingly calm waters can pose significant dangers. Remember: - Never attempt to cross swollen rivers or streams - Stay informed about weather conditions and flood warnings - If you see someone in trouble, call for professional help immediately – don't put yourself at risk #BelizeRescue #WaterSafety #EmergencyResponse
