Enviva continued its support of the Center for Heirs' Property Preservation (CHPP) as one of the sponsors of the organization’s 9th Annual South Carolina Rural & Limited Resource Landowner Symposium held recently in West Columbia. Keynote speaker Shirley Sherrod, President and CEO of the Sherrod Institute, started the two-day conference off to an inspiring start by encouraging the audience to be persistent, diligent and patient when seeking change by retelling her own experiences. Other topics included succession planning, marketing timber, timber tax policy, entrepreneurship, and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) programs available to landowners. Enviva appreciated the opportunity to exhibit at the CHPP conference. Congrats to Dr. Jennie Stephens, CEO of CHPP, and her staff for another fantastic workshop that drew over 180 in-person participants and even more online.  #EnvivaProud

Enviva’s Greenwood team recently hosted over 25 Clemson University Forest Resource Management students. The visit was part of the students’ summer program where they traveled across South Carolina and Georgia to visit forest products facilities and learn more about the forest products community. The undergraduates came prepared not only with proper PPE, but also with notepads, pens, and plenty of questions for Enviva staff. BIG THANK YOUs to Plant Manager Randy Moore, Operations Manager willie middleton, and Area Manager Hunter Adams for guiding students through the pellet manufacturing process from fiber to pellet. Fiber team members Joe Hammond, a Clemson grad, Tyler H., and Ethan Reece led a separate session at the conclusion of the tour just outside Enviva Greenwood’s woodyard where students learned more about Enviva’s Responsible Fiber Sourcing Policy. SPECIAL THANKS to Clemson Professor Brunela Pollastrelli Rodrigues for including Enviva on their annual tour of area forest products companies. #EnvivaProud

Enviva Chesapeake Port Manager Rhandal McGlothlin and staff cultivated over 10,000 oysters in 20 cages as part of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Oyster Gardening program! This year’s total was close to double what Team Enviva turned in last year. Special THANK YOU to Pam Boatwright of the Elizabeth River Project and the volunteers from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) for their guidance. Since oysters are some of nature’s best water filters, the program’s goal is to significantly increase oyster populations by recruiting volunteer gardeners. During exchange day, CBF volunteers count the oysters being returned, clean out cages, and refill cages with spats, the term for baby oysters. All totaled, CBF volunteers counted 10,428 one-year old oysters from the cages cultivated at Enviva Chesapeake over the past year! All these oysters will be added to oyster reefs that the CBF has established over the years. Enviva is recognized as Elizabeth River Project River Star Business for its involvement in the Oyster Restoration program in addition to other environmental projects at its terminal location. Group Photo (front row L to R): Enviva’s Rhandal McGlothlin, Elizabeth River Project’s Pam Boatwright, and Enviva’s Chris Brown pose for in front of another 20 restocked cages full of spats.

As our nation observes #Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States, we are reminded of the vital role that freedom plays in realizing the American dream. Just as the Fourth of July marks a pivotal moment in our nation's history, Juneteenth too is a testament to the unyielding spirit of those who fought tirelessly for #emancipation and #liberty. In 2022, Enviva launched the #EnvivaHeirsPropertyFund to support landowning families, particularly family forest owners, in increasing their ability to own and steward their land across generations. On Juneteenth, and every day, we remain committed to supporting our communities and helping landowning families achieve their goals. We celebrate the resilience and strength of those who fought for freedom and justice, and we recommit ourselves to building a more equitable and sustainable future. We invite you to read our full Juneteenth statement to hear directly from our partners about the great work we are doing with the Enviva Heirs Property Fund.  https://lnkd.in/edkEvre9 #EnvivaProud

5 June is #WorldEnvironmentDay.   This year’s theme centers around accelerating action on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.   At Enviva, we are proud of our work towards restoring the longleaf pine ecosystem across the U.S. Southeast, which is one of the most biodiverse forest types in the nation and now occupies only a fraction of the land area it once did.   You may not know that biomass removals serve as a critical step in the longleaf restoration process.   Check out the story of two landowners in the North Carolina Sandhills that leveraged tools from Enviva's and The Longleaf Alliance restoration partnership, which aims to protect and restore longleaf pine forests, while assisting in advancing landowner's forest management goals. https://adobe.ly/3oh3ksQ

Enviva was busy this Spring supporting Mississippi schools and youth organizations in both ends of the state. Partnering with the George County Chamber of Commerce, during their Explosion of Excellence awards event, Enviva provided scholarship dollars for one of George County High School’s Top 20 Seniors. On the north end of the State, Enviva was excited to support the Amory Youth Sports Parents Association by sponsoring a baseball and softball team for the 2024 season. Can’t wait for what the Summer will bring! #EnvivaProud  https://lnkd.in/eruzG8_q
