How easy compliance is depends on where you are in the manufacturing process. After all, it’s much easier (and cost-effective) to design a compliance product from scratch. But what can you do when an existing product falls short of quality standards? In this all-too-common scenario, a brand might not have the resources to abandon its entire product inventory and redesign the product from scratch. Luckily, there’s another option. Here’s how Factored Quality recommends you improve your brand’s compliance function (5 steps): 1) Use a compliance assessment to identify regulations specific to your industry or product type. (Stay tuned – FQ is launching a free compliance assessment you can use in the coming weeks.) 2) Run a gap analysis to find where you fail to meet those standards. 3) Complete a risk assessment to evaluate the impact of each gap. 4) Make a plan to address your biggest compliance risks first and implement it (don’t forget to monitor the results). 5) Plan routine tests (quarterly and/or annually) and make updates based on regulatory changes.
